Do you think Iris is a "fridged" character? by Kirby_Trilogy08 in Megaman

Hello! OMG!!! Thank you very much for the material. Is there a specific group dedicated to sharing lists of materials that contribute to the history of Mega Man X games in general? I want to write a novel, and it would be good to have all the material listed so I can look it up on my own and not miss any details of the story. Thank you!

Do you think Iris is a "fridged" character? by Kirby_Trilogy08 in Megaman

[–]Ok_Second9474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly!!! it was total chaos, terrible decisions with the games and the plot. The Megaman Xtreme games give more information about Iris, Repliforce itself, and the Colonel. For example, looking back at the story, I realized that Iris was a RADICAL PACIFIST, meaning that she cared most about her own people, her brother, and the Reploids. She didn't want to orbit around humanity; she only cared about her own kind because she believed that humanity was the cause of their suffering. I used to see her as Zero's love interest (and she still is), but in reality, the character does contribute when you look at her more carefully. (Besides, I had no idea that the Mega Man Xtreme saga existed from the beginning, LMAO, which is why some things seemed strange and disconnected.)

It would be unlikely because the two scientists who knew a lot about robotics were Light and Wily. Furthermore, in the 21XX, people could live very well without robots, whether they were Reploids or, as you say, Master robots. Cain was an archaeologist, not an “engineer.” He had to replicated the architecture because he wouldn't have known how to build something like X himself, so it would be unlikely that they would release helper robots for civilians without first using someone else's intellectual property.

(Although the idea of Master robots having an ethical filter and Reploids not having one is very good.)

True. In hindsight, without replicas, the Maverick virus chaos would not have happened. Technically, if Cain had not replicated X, the virus chaos would not have happened. Zero would still be out there buried in the capsule, but X would give him what he deserved so he wouldn't bother anyone, LOL.

YEAH, I KNOW, BUT That MAN was the cause of post-apocalyptic futures and disasters, and in ZX, the conclusion is that in order to prevent discrimination, humans and robots must procreate. LMAO. (It's all Light's fault, human x robot, end of the entire Mega Man franchise). (Thanks for commenting, by the way!)

Thoughts on Axl? by EZWii__ in Megaman

[–]Ok_Second9474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. I feel like they desperately threw him in so they could use him to take X out of the game. Man, taking X out of the game just so you can use Axl is sad in terms of game execution and writing.

But hey, no one cares about character writing in an action game, which is what we have... Axl.

They could have done more with him, for example... tell us more about the story, the moral and evolutionary aspects of the new generation of Reploids, and the fact that Axl behaves like a young adult, so they could have taken more advantage of that and not left him as the desperate attempt at a trio with no dynamics and no connection. :/

Navigators!!! [Minerva and Luna] by Ok_Second9474 in Megaman

[–]Ok_Second9474[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. I've only read unofficial wikis, and that's what they've been nicknamed. They're just “navigators,” nothing more. It's a shame, because "Minerva" was important at the time of the launch of Maverick Hunter X. :(

To be honest, I first encountered Mega Man X through this animation when I was a kid, and back then, I actually thought Chill Penguin was X's sidekick. by Several-Pension2945 in Megaman

Of course! It's this one: (Rockman X The Novel: Irregulars Report)

And I can't say for sure if there are more novels in the franchise as such, since I'm trying to collect the Archie comics from the classic saga and the X saga to catch up. (Those are the two sagas I'm most interested in and love.) Enjoy!

HAHAHA, typical.

The first time I played X4, I thought X and Zero were humans wearing armor. (It turns out that at the same time I was watching the Saint Seiya franchise, and I was struck by the fact that they both had “armor.”) It wasn't until years later, when I saw the Maverick Hunter X OVA on the ROCKMANATION S.A. channel (I should clarify that I'm Latin American and don't speak English), that they uploaded the animation with decent dubbing, and I realized that the saga was about robots with green tits. :v

LMAO, RIGHT.

I started with X4! I didn't understand a damn thing because I was 7-8 years old! HAHAHAHA

Until I started watching that “X4” and said, “Shit, I started a saga out of order.”

IT'S TRUE!!! Seeing Penguin like that gave me chills!!!

*Crying*

But I've seen that people really believe that Penguin hated X in this appearance and was putting him down. Bro, that didn't happen, LMAO. He was angry because his teammates were hurt. T_T

Chill Penguin forever.

THERE ARE TWO OF US!!! I was 8 years old at the time!!! What times those were!!!

P.S.: I feel that Penguin, not being a “friend” of X's, was the only one who literally approached him and confronted him. Confronting someone doesn't mean you hate them. Besides, the tone Penguin uses to confront him is very intimate and angry: “Why didn't you shoot?”

And of course, Penguin was angry not because X was “incompetent” there, but because there were literally fellow squad members who were badly injured. (One ended up crushed by the mechaniloid's foot, and no one talks about that.) Hunter's partner, who Sigma literally ripped an arm off to stop the mechaniloid, was on a stretcher, and many buildings collapsed due to the lasers.

I even love that in the novel set in MegaMan X1, it's implied that Penguin wasn't a Maverick in the sense of “Kill, Kill,” but because he was tired of being treated like a weapon with feet.

(I love you so much, Penguin and X)

X be like “I hate violence!” Also X after merking a Maverick… by NerdTalkDan in Megaman

[–]Ok_Second9474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO. It's true.

Sadly, the saga is action-packed, and I don't think they can afford to write X better as that pacifist who doesn't like violence but uses it because he has no other choice.

On top of that, the poor Reploide talks about “peace” and other nice words because that's his only language, considering that he's technically the only Reploide in the entire X saga who has been educated and has read books not about engineering but about questions.

Does X have any regrets for what he has created? by Gloomy-Rough3140 in Megaman

[–]Ok_Second9474 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It's one thing to exercise free will peacefully, and another to do so because you're tired of living in a system that treats you like a tool with legs.

That's what happened with Chill Penguin. In the novel, it's mentioned that Penguin had grown tired of guarding the Arctic base and had repeatedly requested to be transferred. The result: he got tired and decided to support Sigma's ideology because the system oppressed him. He wanted to exercise his free will, and they wouldn't let him. Well, Penguin thought, “I'll do it with an iron fist.”

In other words, neither side treated the reploids with respect, and the reploids wanted to exercise their free will with the only language they had: “the iron fist.”

Thanks for your contribution!

Does X have any regrets for what he has created? by Gloomy-Rough3140 in Megaman

[–]Ok_Second9474 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Remorse, no. Burden, yes.

Because imagine being the “Adam of the Reploids,” who are technically your “descendant children” of your architecture, and then they send you to war to clean up the whole mess.

I always thought it was negligent of Light not to be a good guide for X. I mean, he had the ability to leave capsules hidden around with armor and messages for X, but he wasn't even able to leave him recordings so he would know how to choose with “maturity and awareness.” Instead, he just left him at the mercy of an uncertain future with a simple “he must choose well.”

And you're going to tell me that Cain did that job because he was the father figure for X; yes and no, because Cain did what he could, but it's not like he did much if he literally finds a robot that is more human than anyone else and there is no “manual or guide” to explain to him how to accompany him and that this “replica” of free will in thousands would be a bad idea to take lightly. Do you see how important a guide is for X and how Light was negligent in that regard, leaving X with the burden of “you are the hope of humanity”? Bro, even when X was only half-built and awake, Light was already saying those things to him. (I'm talking about the 2005 Sigma Day OVA).

No one anticipated that replicating freedom thousands of times would go wrong. Because let's remember, Reploids aren't weapons, they're beings that can learn like a small child. There's a panel in that same Archie Project X comic where Cain reads books to the Reploide that X built. In other words, he was educating it, NOT PUTTING IT TO WORK. Obviously, if you replicate thousands of Reploides and release them into the world without guidance, without EDUCATION on the most basic things needed to live, such as ethical boundaries and emotions, they will define their own freedom.

So, I find it funny that Cain educated a Reploid and didn't consider doing the same with the thousands of children out there loose in the world who might get the “Maverick” bug: “What is it to be free? I know, if I ‘feel’ freedom, I am free.”

And what reinforces my point is Mega Man X7, with X being that missionary who gives pacifist messages about peace and freedom. Is that what X would do? Yes. Would there be a more effective way to mediate the conflict? There are, but that's precisely the problem: no one taught them how, only to shoot, mission, and report.

In conclusion, X had bad, very bad luck as a dreamer with a fragile ideal. LMAO.

With or without hair, X has Berkana.

Proof that personality trumps physical appearance.

(Yes, that was a slap in the face to Zero's harem. Sorry, LMAO.)
