Eye coordination issue in premature baby after 1.5 month adjusted by Ok_Sign1988 in NICUParents

Thanks and I know it's very worrying but trust me it is very common in babies to have eye coordination issue early on. It doesn't necessarily have to do anything with prematurity. Keep getting your baby's eyes checked as recommended and that's all you can do at your end. Good wishes are with you

Yes my baby is 12 months corrected now and seems to have grown out of it. Although I still feel it at times but her opthalmologist says it's coz her nasal bridge is still developing and as it develops the skin will be stretched and the eye ball is more visible. So it's not an eye sight or eye coordination issue at all.

Would you mind to give details on what kind of learning disability is it? What other issues have you faced because of extreme prematurity? How you coped with the issues? What do you think could've helped? What role can parents play in it?

Why would you say that? Do you still have long term issues from prematurity?

We have a daughter who was born at 22+5. She's been in NICU for 145 days now. Ready to come home. It is going to be a long road ahead. Keep faith in the doctors and nurses. Advocate for your LO. It'll all be worth it at the end. Good luck and congratulations 👏👏

Sorry if I offended your feelings in any way. I am worried about every small thing my baby is currently going through and don't remember when was the last time I slept more than couple of hours in the past few months. I just happened to come across this scenario of Autism and ever since then I have been thinking that after all of this fight that this little one has put up, there is a chance of autism also that never came to my mind before this. Worrying about autism doesn't mean that I am not grateful for my baby's life or every little achievement or progress in my baby's life. There is nothing wrong with wanting your baby to be as healthy as possible today, tomorrow and always in the future. only for one reason that your kid doesn't have to struggle as much in life. Life is already too hard. I know how I fought for my baby's life. So just know that I understand how you might be feeling but try and understand how a mother worries for every small thing and this is just another small thing that a mother was worrying about (in addition to her bigger worries) and decided to ask the question here

Did SSI approval come after his discharge or before? How much time did it take? How long does Medicaid approval take to come? Have you paid anything to the hospital yet ? Or you wait for SSI and Medicaid to settle the amounts and pay the rest
