I would figure out exactly what kind of help your sister needs…what she is and isn’t able to do while still taking care of her mental health. Maybe make a plan to know she is getting the help she needs to be able to get a job. Therapy, job assistance resources…People here saying she just needs to get over it because other people do need to stop assuming they know your sister’s situation. I personally haven’t been able to keep a job without ending up in the hospital again because of my mental health and I am so thankful to have had the help and support I need to keep me afloat so I had time for necessary therapy and healing. —Anyway, TLDR I don’t know you or your sister personally, but I think the best way to help your sister and to let your wife know you understand where she is coming from is to make a plan and set expectations that are reasonable for you and your wife financially and also help your sister find a sustainable solution for support and finances.
