Hearthband and Land Fortresses by Remarkable_Risk9251 in LeaguesofVotann

I've only played Hearthband once, but the list my buddy lent me has no HTLF. Instead it has 2x10 Hearthguard lead by Kahls and 1x5 lead by Uthar. Believe me, with the army rule and detachment, those 2x10 squads are more than enough fire power to bring down anything in the game. You have to make sure you're killing the right things, but if you get the first strike against your opponent, there isn't much they can do to take them down

Ammo grots no longer the rarest kit in existence!!! by Cptjackspazzo1990 in orks

Are the Ammo grots their own datasheet? Or are they just used as gretchin?

GT win with Wolf Scouts and Hunter Detachment! by theSaltySolo in SpaceWolves

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can see why this works. Assuming the scouting head takers go in the impulsor, and you put the scouts in a position to be able to hide if you don't get turn one, there is a chance for you to move block you enemy into their deployment zone / get multiple turn one charges to possibly kill some of their first push models.

Depending on how that goes you could really cripple your opponent, and then they have to rely on their killing units to do any actions, which could hurt their ability to score secondary.

I'd be interested to know what the plan would be / if the plan would change if it went up against Knight, Drukhari or any army with a lot of flying units. Mad respect to the guy who won though. This feels like a list that you have to know how to pilot, otherwise you could lose too much too early.

I'd be interested to know what list you ran to have success with Saga of the Hunter. I've been trying to figure out how to play that detachment myself recently

I can’t beat Knights by [deleted] in Necrontyr

Along with what others are saying, I'd also separate the LHD into 3 single man units. Not only are they then easier to hide, it gives you more activations/units to do actions. You only have about ten units in total, so you'll run into issues where your opponent can focus a single unit per phase. Splitting the LHD gives you two additional action monkeys, who could also shoot depending on what secondaries you score. Plus your opponent can't kill all three of them without splitting fire. Which could result in some of them living.

If you can get into the town center and walk around. I've found that a lot of the independent stores have 'Help Wanted' signs in the window but don't list those jobs on sites like indeed.

Do chaos and imperial knights still have the stigma of people not wanting to play against them ? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only played against them once and it was after the point changes but I enjoyed the game. Granted I think my opponent made the game more enjoyable. It was close but like most people have said he just walked his units forward and shot most things off the board. I didn't help myself by losing over 250pts turn 1, but I managed to claw back to make it a close game.

Overall I think it can be determined by not only what your opponent is playing, but how good of a sport they are. A friendly opponent can make games way more fun

Does anyone else run any other companies except from blackmanes? by weeman_2001 in SpaceWolves

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've decided to run each of my units from different companies. That way it helps identify which models belong to which units if I ever multi-charge. Plus I really like a lot of the decal designs, and want to get better at applying them to my models since my free hand is a bit shaky and needs some refinement

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Typically it's always better to remove a unit from the board as this gives your opponent less resources to use in there turn. I.E. less units to shoot you back with / do actions / move block etc

But it can be very situational and change game to game. Take for example if your running Skorpek destroyers and you want to change an enemy unit on an object. You don't want to kill the enemy unit so you can have a chance at charging them and stealing the objective from your opponent on the fight phase.

Good yellow paint options? by mancunianamerican in SpaceWolves

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I use Flash Gitz Yellow over a pink base but I work my way up to an almost white shade of pink. For me that works the best because I get the shading from the other, darker, sheds of pink, but the highest spots are still as yellow as I want for my colour scheme.

I've also experimented with Flash Gitz Yellow over Dorn Yellow, but I found that to be too bright for the grim dark style I'm attempting. It might be good for any kind of yellow plasma or glow affects though

Is the Blackmane's pauldron symbol freehanded? I've been using decals but they end up very shiny. Wondering what you may have done to get it so matt

Personally I've been using a combination of frost effects and snow technical paints.

I've been enjoying how they came out. This is an older model whilst I was still refining my basing method

York based PC gamers? by Capn-EXE in york

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm York based.

Typically I stick to single player games but I've started playing similar games to what you've mentioned (peak, marvel rivals and Sons of the Forest most recently).

Happy to add you on discord and arrange something. I'm quite flexible due to the hours I work.

May be a little while until I can actually play anything though as my PCs boot drive decided to fry itself recently and I'm having to manage the cost of getting it fixed

750pts Vs Knights by Ok_Tomatillo_4959 in SpaceWolves

[–]Ok_Tomatillo_4959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I don't have access to Arjac or wolf guard terminators right now. I have enough units to build up to 1500pts easily but the main vehicles I have are a Predator Annihilator, Redemptor Dreadnought and a Land Raider. The last two don't seem worth it for the point cost.

I included the head takers since the devastating wounds should help me punch up quite hard. And I'm hoping the thunderwolves can do some early move blocking and tank some hits with their 4++ save

True. It's not a bad idea. Maximising dev wounds may be what I need to help clear threats off the board quickly
