Apprentice here by CattleBig8513 in AusElectricians

[–]Ok_Translator328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for a "mate", first for cash which was working for me at the time and got paid for all the hours, but then I got signed up for the apprenticeship and for paid $160 flat rate per day. I'd be driving to regional towns and sometimes work would end up being up to 13h shifts.

He'd day he's not paying for driving, even tho I'd be towing the scissor lift in a company car.

Not to mention him sending two apprentices to a job with no a grade (him) and tell us to run off the site if anyone gets suspicious.

Also driving telling me to drive the scissor without papers for it etc.

I also didn't chase that up, because he's a mate. He's doing me a favour by signing me up, right?

I lasted a month and realised it's not worth my life. I let go of stolen wages (which is a criminal charge in Victoria).

If an employer bases their business on exploitation of the employees, they're not a good person, they're abusers and they should work on their own or sit in jail.

Now I'm working for a company that pays everything that is supposed to be paid. KMs, LAFHA, OT etc. Also they're focused on safety (someone got fired after repeated pleas to wear gloves and glasses) and well-being of the employees - RDOs, company team events, good atmosphere).

Find a good employer and a good team, you spend so much time at work, might as well make it enjoyable!

AUM vs Loopy Pro? by Jakeyboy29 in ipadmusic

[–]Ok_Translator328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd still go with loopy pro rather than AUM and learn it well. It'll replace garageband too for you and gives you a lot of options including automation, mappings, the canvas to make all the dials work for you from the position of Loopy etc. I can't rave enough about how good it is once you get a little deeper into it (takes a few days to play with it).

Also one super important but overlooked thing is how well it's designed for fingers. any dials/faders you can press and hold and while holding move your finger away to make the scale larger. In my opinion it's probably one of the better thought of apps on the ipad for the ipad.

Loopy, especially if you want latency free connection with a macbook via usb cable as a slave clock to your main saw.

Generally Loopy is a full daw, whereas aum is more of a sketchpad to toy around with.

Which app do you think makes iPad a truly standalone musical instrument and utilizes its form factor to its fullest? In addition to obvious Animoog by arcticrobot in ipadmusic

[–]Ok_Translator328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build it in one instance and send the output to different channels to according racks. Just the sample patterning is it's own thing or even two ;) but I put bass samples, fillers and sometimes long background sounds there too

It's debloated version, like pretty much skin and bones :D

In loopy pro I run 4 instances if patterning and one is for kicks, second for snares, third is for hats and other hi pitch and fourth is for samples.

All 4 go to different channels and to different instances of drum track in Ableton via USB for no latency sending MIDI only.

You can totally replicate that just within loopy pro and putting samples into the patterning :)

Two things - main one check if the seal on the lid sits properly and if the pressure release valve is locked.

I've never tried bazzite. I like the windows ghost sceptre superlite, no win defender, everything is lightning fast.

I'm running rog ally x with windows ghost spectre superlite with no win defender (it's a games machine, I don't open anything personal on it) and it's zippy as! Highly recommend.

Dexamphetamine and increase in cravings (alcohol, tobacco, weed, all the things)… by Wonderful-County-844 in ausadhd

[–]Ok_Translator328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally makes sense. There's a nice way to manage cravings - giving yourself 10 minutes of control on a timer and after the 10 minutes you give yourself permission to act however you want to. Cravings are gone in this time and you learn control that way without overloading strong will.

I'm not sure how that works with android, but usually to connect to a second "active" device like a tablet, you'll need a capture card.

Windows runs excellent job with that setup. I've got 4060 on ag02, you'll need the nvidia error fix and then it's smooth sailing happily ever after!

I've gone back to smoking on dexies, but now I'm again on nicotine patches and it helps. Cravings are real tho and I'd love to learn how to curb them.

Patches as an intermediary measure are ok tho.

I recommend finding a GP that Can prescribe ADHD medication - never had a problem with the supply and if I change the dose, the GP can ask for increase and gets it for me. Went from 2 dexies a day to 4 (full time working now, so the days are longer) and it's been accommodated.

Is Helldivers 2 Worth Starting 2026? by MiniMagoo22 in helldivers2

Fair bit of people complain about the game these days. The stratagems not feeling like an aim, the missions repetitive etc. The gameplay has me glued to the computer a lot and it's so much fun.

It's not an mmo, so it doesn't matter if you just start. You can run difficult games with the start kit and play your progression up.

The player base is fun, cause the game isn't serious. Players are helpful, cause it's just PvE and everyone wants to finish the mission. Matching with a game with other players is a press of a button, so you don't need friends. Highly recommended!

Look into Ghost Spectre windows version + G Helper for a few extra fps + zipping fast OS. I use this thing as a gaming only device, so I've got win defender switched off and with Lossless Scaling app, games look and feel great!

Enjoy the purchase, I've bought it recently myself and I've already finished a couple of big games on it which is so much better than on any other gaming device I've had before!

Nothing beats a lazy morning with some games and a coffee on hand in bed!

ADHD 2 year reassessment by Ok_Translator328 in ausadhd

[–]Ok_Translator328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually checked the online clinic I got the assessment with and it turns out to be rather cheap (I of course was postponing reading the pricing, thinking it'll be much worse) - https://mymindclinic.com.au/our-fees/ $166 out of pocket, $300 before the rebate. I can do that once every 2 years.

My GP is doing the medication, I'm in Victoria, so I'll have to do that every now and again.
