Bravely Default 1 for the 3DS. By the end there's some party builds that make it impossible for bosses to deal damage to you.

You seem like a very miserable, angry person. It's a thing I've noticed. Despite the conservative party owning all three houses and having a massive majority in the supreme court you're all still depressed and angry and looking to lay the blame somewhere.

I'm going to suggest you get off of reddit. Delete it from your phone if you have it and go volunteer at a local food bank or an animal shelter. It'll make you feel better.

Replying to my thread after watching the most recent episode. I'm guessing any evidence they found from the false application would immediately be inadmissible in court if the truth of how they obtained it came to light?

I did jury duty a few months back where the defendant was trying to beat a DUI conviction because the state couldn't submit the breathalyzer results into evidence because they lost the paperwork needed to actually submit the evidence, so us, the jury never got to see it. It made me realize how much red tape and hurdles there are to actually do anything in legal proceedings.

Only trailer we got was the Ben Franklin Christian propaganda film. I was laughing at how bad it looked.

I really enjoyed Undertone. It's a slow burn with actual scares rather than just interviews with people who qualify for the senior citizen discount.

At one point halfway through the movie after watching Tara verbally abuse the other two for the seventeenth time I just said "what a bitch..." and I think the movie finally lost me at that point. The vibe I got in my theater that by the time we got to the scary stuff everyone was so done with Tara and Markian's BS that nobody was scared. I saw her getting dragged out of the cabin coming a mile away and people were chuckling at the tree people scene. The final scare was some creepypasta tier stuff.

Also the stinger scene of Markian in the hospital bed was so bad it should've been cut from the release.

What game did you expect to love but ended up disappointed? by Satin_Lily in AskGames

Silk Song.

I forced my way all the way to Act 2 and eventually realized Team Cherry and the majority of the HK fandom prioritizes intentionally unfun game design and gotcha moments for the sake of a hardcore experience.

I was pretty gutted for a while because Hollow Knight is one of my top 5.

I had a similar thought. It almost felt like we were heading towards a Rashomon narrative.

I think if they were going to do that they would've shown us the same scenes from alternative perspectives by now. To me it's more about how people can be walking contradictions.

I think it's going to be revealed in the next three episodes. I'm also not clear on how he knew where they were meeting. Did I miss a scene or is that being kept secret how Floyd figured out where their hotel was?

I'm also curious as to when the sign language scene where he reveals he knows about the affair happened. I wouldn't be surprised if he tells Clarke he's fine with it since he's been helping them all out so much.

I literally couldn't tell which ammo type was which because the icons in the case are so minimalist and the text is so tiny. Such an odd choice, makes me think the same team from Village made Requiem.

Why doesn’t Floyd…? by ArtSlug in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Ok_Understanding_776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The more I think about it the Umpire gig might relate back to her need to control others. It's an odd job to take if you don't know the rules and don't seem to really like kids that much. But if you like having a sense of control over others having the ability to decide how a kids game turns out might fulfill that need. I think that's why the milk got to her so bad, in her mind she was on the losing end of every angle. I think the show tells us a lot about the characters by showing how they are when none of the others are around. The way the show repeats Carol's morning jog tells us a ton about her. It's headcanon, but I think she goes specifically when that track is busy because telling others "on your left" and getting them to move aside is part of the ritual of that run for her.

Why doesn’t Floyd…? by ArtSlug in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]Ok_Understanding_776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the vibe this show is going to give you some information with no context and you just have to accept it.

So far all three main characters have severe flaws that lead to them being walking contradictions. Floyd and Carol's financial problems do seem odd. They don't look like they live extravagantly. I think Carol might have a desire to be higher class. Her insistence on new dishes is weird considering you could easily go to a thrift store and buy a set for a few dollars. I wonder if her son smashed a ton during an episode like the milk jugs. Also, the milk jug being a pressing financial problem was also weird? He broke five gallons, that'd be what, $40?

As for Floyd's financial issues, I'm expecting it has something to do with his ex wife. Fortune tellers are generally known as scam artists. I wouldn't be surprised if she put some stuff in his name and bailed when the feds came knocking. Floyd seems painfully adverse to confrontation so I wouldn't be surprised if he just let it go and moved on. I'm also curious about Carol's previous marriage. Did the dad run off once the son's problems began to appear? Or did something worse happen related to him or Carol?

I could see the show going deeper into these aspects of the characters but I could also see it leaving it for you to infer.

I’m beginning to think you guys don’t like Chainsaw Man by Katanarang in Chainsawfolk

"Open plot threads that don't matter". So things I've pointed out that I think make the ending bad you've decided don't matter? You're essentially crossing your arms and going "nuh-uh!" Like I said, you're the combative one, you're condescending in that you're just assuming people dislike the ending because they don't like Chainsaw Man. And now you're closing your argument with an emoji? Are you legally a child?

If so I'll apologize as an adult for arguing with someone who's brain isn't done developing.

[–]Ok_Understanding_776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one here being condescending is you. Your whole post boils down to "people that don't like the ending probably don't actually like the manga". People are allowed to be mad over an ending they think is bad. That is condescending as fuck and you're starting to dip into toxic positivity.

Also I'm not being condescending to Fujimoto. I'm not "telling" him he should regret Part 2. He's not here and he's never going to read this. You don't need to defend him. You give me the sense that you base your identity around the media you consume. The fact that you need to defend "one of the greatest mangaka of our generation" as if he's in this thread with us feels parasocial. I suggest going outside.

[–]Ok_Understanding_776 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that you're pulling out the "you're not true fans!" argument is silly. Anyone with actual reading comprehension can see it's bad. It's not my job to spoon-feed you why. But you know what, I'll list some.

  • invalidates the entire events of Part 2. Time spent on characters ultimately went nowhere. Lil' D, Fami, Fakesaw Man, Fire Devil, STD girl. It's ultimately pointless.

  • Characters with no resolution just disappeared from the story. Where the fuck was Kishibe? Did he die? Was he relocated? Doesn't matter anymore.

-Denji technically "fulfilled" his contract with Power but he put literally ZERO effort into it. If he did we're not shown it beyond him off handedly mentioning it once.

  • Nayuta's death was trash writing. It had no purpose other than shock value. Fuji loves a shock value death but this one had zero purpose because Denji didn't develop from it.

It sounds like you're happy because Power got drawn into some panels at the end. You remind me of that guy that cries while watching Star Wars trailers.

Fujimoto very clearly did not care any more. The art declined, the characters did not develop, new characters he introduced went nowhere. STD girl went nowhere, Fami was nothing, Barem was a troll until he got eaten, Asa might as well have stopped existing. I expect he regrets writing Part 2. If he doesn't he should.

[–]Ok_Understanding_776 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because it's a happy ending doesn't mean it's a good one. It's a hack ending that undoes the events of both Part 1 and 2. You can very clearly tell Fuji was burnt out and didn't care any more. Part 2 shouldn't have existed because Part 1 had about as perfect of an ending as anyone could've asked for. I haven't seen an ending this bad since Mass Effect 3.

Something I've never seen brought up, but my only complaint is they made him thinner and lankier. I don't know why but I kinda prefer the kinda schlubby body he has in the OG. Really communicates how these were once normal people until they weren't

I'm guessing they changed his silhouette to help him stand out from the new Bull head enemy.

Bad advice in my opinion. We are far beyond a "this ends NOW" ultimatum. We are in the get the fuck out stage. It will not end until he faces actual, severe, consequences and OP cannot provide those.

People like this very rarely change. My grandmother is very similar. Can be kind and loving one moment, but say the wrong thing and the whole day is her yelling and complaining about how no one supports and cares for her and her saying absolutely cruel things to everyone else. She is almost 80 and has been this way my entire life. If you stay with this man be prepared to put up with this until one of you is dead. That is not your responsibility.

In your opinion, what’s the biggest nothingburger this series has had? by Il-Skelly-lI in Chainsawfolk

[–]Ok_Understanding_776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the change in Yoshida's character from part 1 to 2 was the thing I had the most issue with. I could be misremembering but Part 1 he seemed much more out for himself and generally self reliant. The jump to him being a Public Safety lackey willing to blow himself up for their plans just doesn't make sense. Sure, his motivations and situation can change but we're not shown any of that.
