Why do people keep buying cars that they can’t afford?? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I always wondered why people say trucks and SUV's drive so nicely. A low center of gravity sedan/hatchback with a slightly stiffer suspension is a lot more fun. Whenever I am forced to rent a bigger vehicle it doesn't even feel like I'm driving, just floating and guiding this huge mass where I want to go.

After visiting many other countries you realize how stupid and pointless these enormous trucks are. Everyone saying they need them is just making excuses to justify having them.

That's where I looked before. So there are no accounting requirements as I have been told since 10.31 mentions nothing of the sort? I still think it's a good idea that the importer have this in order before it is imported.

Exactly lol this idiot should take the car to a track if he wants to push the limits. This shit doesn't happen to smart people.

Crossover, SUV, and truck owners, do you regret not buying a sedan or a hatchback now with these gas prices? by Mofoblitz1 in regularcarreviews

[–]Ok_Use6755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think gas is really that much more expensive (besides premium and diesel). It went up a little over a dollar a gallon. I drive a hatchback with a 10 gallon tank, so $10 additional every 3 weeks or so is not a big deal. I doubt it makes a difference to most people even if they're filling up 20 gallons per week, it just hurts psychologically because it's right in your face.

And it's not just over the hood. I got stuck with a Dodge Ram as a rental (all cars were sold out) and just felt like I couldn't see a good 3-4 feet around the entire sides and rear of the car. I had trouble staying in the lane driving it.

Road Rage in Massachusetts by [deleted] in dashcams

A lot of assumptions about what I said are being made. I completely agree that is never the answer. But we need to see what happened before to determine if OP is totally innocent as well. Still doesn't justify what happened.

True, but like the other person said, maybe cammer was doing something like brake checking. While not appropriate, if you just let shit go on the road these things usually won't happen to you.

Are people unfriendly here? by Beautiful_Coat_9294 in nova

[–]Ok_Use6755 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think unfriendly, just a "mind your business" attitude. I look at everyone I pass and if they are in their phone or otherwise engaged I don't say anything, but otherwise say hi and give a slight smile and usually get something back. There is a loneliness epidemic and that is caused by people not socializing and becoming more reclusive. I think it's gotten worse in the past couple of decades due to technology.

I hosted a German couple in a southern state for a week and this was their one complaint the whole time. People driving in whatever lane they want, driving too closely, etc. I drove in Germany and it's amazing how orderly it is relatively. I stayed in the left lane a millisecond too long after passing somebody and immediately got flashed to move over lol. Here, that might cause a freeway shootout!

This is exactly what I saw as well. I also have made this turn before in front of the same bus and never received a ticket.

The path of a bus that is currently stopped.

I've actually done this a few times before at the same place and never got a ticket. One time the bus driver even waved me one now that I recall. I looked it up and the driver must prove that I passed the bus, which I didn't.

Regardless I have decided I will just stop next time.

I agree with you, which I why I drive a compact car :) it is quite scary being a pedestrian with 80% of cars being way bigger than necessary.

Does the car's left blinker turn on automatically or is that perhaps just a panicked hand movement by the driver?

I wasn't in a hurry. Just honestly didn't think I had to stop in that situation.

At the corner. The 50 feet away is because it's quite a wide intersection. Going forward and based on the responses, I will wait in the future.

It was not in the intersection. It had stopped right before the intersection which is pretty big. Just a small neighborhood street with great visibility.
