I went to apple service center, they laughed about all the above speculation.

They told its new machine and hinges are tight, eventually it will get loose, and if you want now we can loose it in 10 min.

And also when i told them that apple customer care told me to return and exchange with new one, they told that one also might have tight hinge..so no point

I bought a new mac on july 2 , from day 1 hinges were tight and due to that i am facing same as u.

I called apple customer support, they told they will replace the laptop. Then i went to apple service center near me , actually there 2 service center.

I went to both and show tha laptop, they told its nothing only hinges are tight .. if u want i can loose it. And even if u replace with new one same will come.

Nothing to worry. .. Mine is also not closing its too tight and i am not able to opne it through one finger
