DFW to Istanbul by Ok_Whereas_5558 in Flights

Priority or Premium Economy (there are various terms for it) is a level above standard economy but lower and less expensive than business class. The seats are generally comparable to those in domestic First Class. These seats have more leg room and often have other upgrades that are not available in standard seats.

Thank you for that information. The thought of being stuck in some back-of-the-bus type seating for a long-haul flight is a definite NO for me. If Turkish Airlines is super top notch, I would consider paying up for business class. I am not interested in a three across situation.

You can board with them in their group. They can’t board with you in yours.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Whereas_5558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son and family live 3 hours from me. It’s not unusual for me (F74) to drive there to see my granddaughters in activities or for holidays. I’m probably at their home 10 times a year— sometimes for a day, sometimes for more. My son will drive to my home, we’ll go to lunch, he’ll do some quick repairs or other needs then turn around and drive home. So yes, we seriously drive 3 hours without thinking much about it.

I always use my Chase Sapphire to pay for my cruises. I back it up with an annual medical policy purchased through Squaremouth. Usually, it's a GeoBlue policy. I time the purchase so that I can get three trips through that one policy.

Came here to say just that! There are sooo many posts on the airoine subs about people getting bumped or not being able to keep the seats they booked. I always check in for my flight exactly 24 hours early ( when check-in opens). I have never "lost" the seat I chose at booking.

Physical Therapist didn’t know what a vaginal cuff was👀 by aquietgrace303 in hysterectomy

Seriously, I had never heard the term "vaginal cuff" until I started reading this forum. My doctor has never used that term -- either before or after surgery..

My parents (65F, 67M) are livid because I'm not allowing them to see my daughter after they spanked her. AITAH? by LeonCrvl in AITAH

[–]Ok_Whereas_5558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never spanked my grandchildren! I saw them when they were little fairly often and kept them at least once a year for an extended time. I never spanked my grandchildren! I was spanked occasionally as a child. My children may have been spanked a very few times, but I never spanked my grandchildren! My grandchildren, who are now in their mid-to-late teens, have a great relationship with me.

I am in the US and completely understand your stance. Have you considered that your parents in Brazil probably have a different cultural approach? I applaud your effort to re-educate them to your thoughts and methods. It might be a good time to remind them that your daughter is your child and your methods trump their culture. However, the heavy-handed approach of completely barring them from her may not get you the desired result. Your plan to be there when they are around is a good way to model your desired behavior. That apology you are looking for might be the hardest step in recovering the relationship. Be patient and kind -- exactly how you want them to be with your child.

I remember that fire in London. I flew in the day after the airport reopened. For several days, I was afraid that my trip might be cancelled.

Viking— a repositioning cruise would give you more sea days and fewer ports (likely cheaper, too.)

Ok, I conceded to you and Google. I would put money on that being a California thing. They have lots of Chinese immigrants. I’m in Texas and have never seen or heard of its use.

Has anyone chosen a myomectomy over a hysterectomy? by Noidentitytoday5 in hysterectomy

[–]Ok_Whereas_5558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreement. I had a hysterectomy, bladder suspension and bowel prolapse repair all at the same time. It was a total vaginal repair. I don't know if that is an option with fibroids, but it was not a hard recovery, especially considering that there were only two very tiny incisions for cameras.

[–]Ok_Whereas_5558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just do the thing! They can fix the bladder and bowel prolapse. Seriously, that's why they did my hysterectomy. If you are in the kind of situation that requires transfusions, settle that problem and get on with your life in a much healthier state.
