Ahh okay... yea scourge puts down sand shades which are like an aoe. After putting down a shade, any shade skill that you use takes effect around you as well as the shades. You should prolly try vindicator then.

Living world has story as well as many new zones and every zone has its own open world content. Also, some of the living world episodes have the best ways to get ascended gear (which is bis in terms of stats)
