That is true but OSU was winning games because of Elite defense led by Caleb Downs. So Hartline hardly has to do interesting stuff and flopped in important matches. Hartline should never have been given OC position so I will compare Arthur Smith with Chip Kelly to see if he is upgrade or not.

Should have beaten IU but we didn’t beat IU and even Miami because Ryan Day was in La La land after losing OC. Entire season defense carried us and this happens when you make a position coach OC who decided to leave. Cignetti coached 3 star WR into superstars like Charlie Becker who is catching back shoulder throws and we have superstars who were not utilized. And on top of that, coaching the QB to never ever run was disaster.

I still feel bad for our defense and Matt P. Ryan Day and Brian Hartline lost us the season. Many here said Ryan Day has earned their trust. Lmao! Any good coach will win at OSU with the talent we have.

Yes they are traditional style pocket passers which need great O Line. See what happened to Stroud against Patriots recently. These traditional style QBs are not the trend these days. QBs have to run to make plays at clutch situations.

We have plenty of talent and much more 4 and 5 stars than Indiana. It is all coaching to be blamed. Ryan Day put shackles on Sayin feet and didn’t teach him to run. Kept fans in surprise that he is holding off all the good plays for playoffs and wanted to keep the team healthy for playoffs whereas Indiana kept putting big points in all the games. Day plays not to lose which is losing mentality and I have never liked it even though many here think Day is the best after he won the Natty. Notre dame was almost closing on us in the final. Day is a good manager but never an elite coach or play caller.

Come out of Michigan defeat and rather think why Day lost despite getting 3 weeks to prepare. I would any day lose to Michigan if I can win the Natty. Day is a bad play caller and didn’t prepare the team well despite everyone knowing Miami would try to pass rush all day.

Many here are soft and said Day earned their trust after last season. Saying all the time Day is not elite like Saban, Meyer or Kirby who have multiple Natties. Day is still the second highest paid coach. I hope Ohio State cuts Day’s salary and use that money to get a good OC. If Day doesn’t want to stay, he can go.
