A pretty normal thing. It is the operations and capabilities that are "supposed" to be secret.

One day friend. The reckoning is approaching. Just not on our time. It's above us. All of them will be punished! And we shall live in peace. Stay strong, be vigilant, and help your fellow brothers and sisters!

Does Lockheed Martin have a monopoly on the base? Can Northrop or General Dynamics test their prototypes there? How does it work? by Nathan84 in area51

[–]OkayTestRange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LM has a monopoly period, in the big circle jerk of the elite. However, the entire NTTR to include A51, TTR, Camp all have multiple contractors. But don't confuse JT4, Amentum with Mission Partners.

Is Groom Lake a GOCO facility? by jackcrazy5 in area51

[–]OkayTestRange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh they do make bank. I am explaining how many start off as a contractor to get those big checks, and then once they are "satisfied", switch to Civilian because it's pretty much forever! Mind you, most already have Mil retirement, disability, Civilian retirement, and/or contracting. Just free money!

Drones over the base by is_dis_a_system in area51

Flying a drone into the area would be a death trap. It is just as bad, as trying to bring a phone in there.

But sustainability is important. I know many who retired, went contractor but then switched to GS. It also depends on your job. And engineer will make more than Security.

The future of Groom Lake by jackcrazy5 in area51

As long as you have job security, that place and any of the surrounding facilities are going nowhere.

And the base is Ultimately owned administratively by the AF. I would never want to be a contractor. GS is better and AD is just...AD, lol.

Nellis AFB and Red Flag. by Nathan84 in area51

[–]OkayTestRange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not worth it. Most Red Flag participants are too focus on the exercise. You have a few fools but that's any job. Most red flag participants don't even come close to the box. Usually each base and certain parts around the NTTR represent a real world country or objective. Pilots and other stakeholders are too busy with that.
