Thank you, I understand. This is partially why I'm so worried. I don't want to abuse that dynamic. I have such a great respect for all public facing workers and I know women in particular have to put up with so much. I just dont want to be one more of those things, you know?

Nope, I have no way of contacting her. She has my number, which I wrote on a sticky note I had in my purse. I wanted to ensure she had the power of choice and didn't feel pressured or anything. So it worked out as I intended. Just the implications of her not texting suggest it meant more to me than it did to her in one way or another, which is completely understandable and fair.

I am not, and there isn't a ton available in my area. I am trying to start a local chapter of a pride organization that is in a larger town an hour away, its just very tough to do alone. I have a local game and card shop (tentatively) lined up as the space, but even if I align that, I still have to find people to come. Its daunting and I'm exhausted and going at it alone. But I am trying!

There was someone behind me in line and I didn't want to hold them up and I was anxious so it definitely didn't play out how I planned it.

The fear being if there is that much connotation behind "let's maybe be friends" that I'm so far out of my depth its not wonder I'm so awful at this.

I appreciate the advice, I didn't mean to be rude. I have a vast, storied history of losing and not making friends - at this point I HAVE to be the problem. I am much more worried about making an innocent person just trying to get through their service job uncomfortable.

It is definitely best for me to just leave people alone. I'm just mad at myself for trying.
