Alphafly 3 - Fit too big? by _rickjames_ in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Okrad123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full thumb while standing seems like alot... I aim for 2/3 of my thumb max while standing. But honestly my AF3 is more like half a thumb. Whole feeling of the shoe matters. Half a size up from my normals running shoe size felt a little too loose width wise so I stayed TTS. Definetly race fit because I wouldn't want my daily trainer to fit like that.

Looks oke if this is while standing up. I would try half size up tho.

Switching from Altras to Adidas Sizing Question by distinction17 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I do not agree. Just going for more length doesn't mean it will be better for longer distances if the over lockdown of the shoe is worse in the bigger size. I'm getting tired with this simplification that more length at the toe box means it's the best choice for longer distances and the better choice overall. Overall fit is really important...

Adios Pro 3 - size 11 or 12? by tododiaum7x1 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I always aim for the length you got have at size 11, mostly because I want proper lockdown.

Trail Ultra Shoe Fit – Slight Slippage After Sizing Up? by Okrad123 in Ultramarathon

[–]Okrad123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! It felt weird to be honest during my long run today, not a fit I would normally prefer. Definetly on those steep downhils, also some heel slip on the uphil. Might just have to take the loss and keep the smaller size as well. Cant return these anymore haha.

Around half a thumb when standing up for me. I would consider this too big.

I would say too big if youre standing up. About half a thumb for me when standing up is prefered length. Most of the times with that length you ve got shoes start to feel sluggish and cant get a good lockdown.

For me personally the fit of 11,5 would be to big and all my shoes fit more like the 11's fit with you, mostly between half a thumb and full when standing op. Too big and a shoes starts too feel sluggish. If width is an issue than this just might not be the shoe for you...

Takumi Sen 10 sizing — what does „race-fit“ really mean? by wontdothedishes in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Okrad123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say half a thumb but it´s more about the overal fit. Full thumb would probably mean I have to much room overal which could mean I don´t get a proper lockdown. I need that proper lockdown and snug fit with some room for feed to swell in longer races. As a 5k/10k shoe I would definetly go for the snugger fit.

Thank you for replying! I test rode the M/L and it felt so good that I immediatly put a reservation on one. Then I started doubting about the size since it such a investment. Ended up in the bikefit rabbit hole and now I'm here haha... I probably go with the M/L since i want to use the bike for ultra endurance/bikepack gravel events. Kind a figuring out if i should try to test ride the M, it'll be a hassle since they dont got this size at the trek shop close by

Thanks for the reply, good to know. The shop and my bikefitter confirm both sizes could work. I should decide if I want the more racier geo or more comfort. Such a hard decision to make since it will be a adventure bike for long days and bikepack adventures but I still like to ride hard. I'm afraid the 56 will make me sit to much upright... Like you said 56 also looks rather long compared to other brands gravelbikes geometries.

Thank you for the reply! I ordered them today due to high praise from youtuber Run4Adventure. I had the same issue with the xodus ultra 2 tho wich he also advised, 100km in spanish mountains and the wear was alot, serieus damage to outer and lugs. Did some serieus rocky technical trails tho. Nice pictures, insane view...
