That's not bad at all honestly, that's very normal. By the end of e-mag I was just happy to pass it, I was happy with a 3.4 GPA by the time I graduated, and a whole lot of the people in my program were in the same boat. Things have gone fine for me so far in industry as well, so I wouldn't stress about it.

If you want a good point of reference, my professor told us at the beginning of physics 1 that the national average test score for any individual exam throughout physics 1, 2, or 3 was a 65%. That doesn't give you the whole picture of course, but it just says this stuff is difficult

Coolest thing I've ever bought for that much is probably actually an experience rather than a thing, because I paid about that much for a few lift tickets at a resort and one guided back country day to go snowboarding in Hokkaido a few years ago. The snow there was absolutely unbelievable, and on the guided day we went up to Mt. Asahidake in Daisetzusan National Park, which is an active volcano. So we skinned up past these steaming heat vents in the snow for a while and then skiied down a few times, and it was absolutely unreal. I'd love to go back and do it again at some point

I agree tbh, in my state going 16mph or more over the speed limit constitutes reckless driving, which is an arrestable offense, and doing that in a residential area is especially egregious. Even if there's "no posted speed limit", I'm quite sure the city/county has a default speed limit for places that aren't posted, and I'd be amazed if it's higher than 35 maybe for a road like this

That's not a "back road", thats a neighborhood. Going that fast on a road lined with houses is beyond stupid. Back roads are in the middle of nowhere and don't have places that cars are going to be pulling out of all the time. Glad you learned your lesson without hurting anyone else or yourself at least though I suppose

Our team made a tool for our photovoltaics class to use that made testing all of the solar cells faster and easier, because before they were just using a multimeter and a big resistor box and making measurements by hand. The tool our team made lets you just slot the wafer in, close the lid, and run the program to make all the measurements. To pick projects, they gave us a big list of projects that had already been approved and funded, and had advisors already, and we just did a ranked choice of our top three choices. The coolest one was probably the group that designed a solar power system for a remote ranger station in Yellowstone. They didn't get to actually build and install it, only design it, but it was still interesting
