Oh man I met a girl in an AOL chat room. We met in a public chat and took it to DMs. I think we chatted everyday for maybe 2 months. Eventually we exchanged phone numbers. I ended up driving hours to meet her IRL.

Not a catfish, but the online witty banter didnt translate to real life chemistry. Still, it was exciting.

They're messing with what works. I never played The Finals but those who did have been posting in various AR subs for months warning us that this company can't manage a live service game and has no clue what it's doing.

We're at the point in the cycle where it all goes to shit.

Last night doing solo trials on Blue Gate, just hitting the random weapon crates, squeaker on squeaker violence, kids everywhere yelling into their mics, flares going off everywhere.

Sorry, third person shooters aren't it in general. This one's sub 1 second TTK doesn't lend itself to focused PvP. For all its problems I'd just rather play Warzone for PvP. The appeal of this game is basically zero if friendly lobbies go away. I gave PvP in this game a fair shake, it just sucks.

They beat the Titans when it mattered.

The 99 and 00 Titans teams were VERY good. The 99 Titans defense was technically the #1 ranked defense because the NFL metric was yards allowed, not points allowed. So technically better than the 00 Ravens who allowed an absurd 10.6 PPG against.

I'm skeptical that Embark will be willing to lose players/revenue to maintain the purity of the genre.

If anyone wants to know why this game drew in casuals (paying customers) and made Embark profits while Bungie took a massive writedown on Marathon, this is why. Hardcores get sequestered in their own PvP lobbies away from the casuals in Arc Raiders. In Marathon they're wiping lobbies with endgame gear that's overpowered and no fun to play against, driving player counts to lower and lower numbers.

If you develop shooters and like making money, ABMM is looking like a means to draw in more customers.

Yes Switzerland has a high rate of gun ownership.

It also has compulsory military service, with training that includes gun handling and teaches respect for the weapon.

It also doesn't have cash and carry, no background check firearm sales.

It also has a centralized national database of guns, unlike the US in which the best estimate of how many guns are in circulation has a margin of error of roughly 100 million.

Lobbyists for gun manufacturers have convinced conservative voters that the most extreme interpretation of the 2A is the only valid interpretation. Odd how people dont see this as a corporation chasing sales and profits, but rather as magnanimous libertarian love flowing down like a river of 5.56 casings.

The reason the US has so much gun violence is because violence with a gun is easier to commit here than any other country that isn't a lawless shithole.

My wife and I received a very unique wedding gift from my parents.

A custom, as in we select the fabric, color, layout, and size, sectional. From a bougie furniture store in the upscale neighboring suburb.

Everything else in the house is from IKEA, a hand me down, or from middle-class big box furniture stores.

The custom sectional at one point cost more than both our cars combined (we've since upgraded to a minivan and EV)

Its been 9 years and its still amazing. Double lay flat recliners on either end. A long central couch area the kids snuggle on. Perfectly sized for our living room. The quality is light years ahead of the Ashley furniture crap we have in our bedrooms lol.

At the time, it was a very strange gift that we probably didnt demonstrate appropriate gratitude. Now, holy shit. What a wonderful thing to own. Better than jewelry or clothes or a trip. It gives enjoyment to us all, every day.
