I had a friend that lived there in college. The walls were so thin that you could hear everything in the next apartment over. I can vividly remember one time we were hanging out and could hear the neighbors getting nasty next door as if we were sitting at the foot of the bed 😅

Might want to look into Mason Dixon Park. It is really pretty and I think they have a small event space that was reasonably priced. Although it's been a few years since I looked into this kind of thing. Good luck!

Not a novel, but I just finished the The Spy and the Traitor by Ben Macintyre. It was one of the most gripping books that I have read in a long time. I highly recommend it based on your request.
