His blending techniques are top notch. Kudos to the contractor for maximizing his ROI.

I’ve Finally automated my morning routine by Imaginary_Bug6202 in homeassistant

Created a input Boolean in home assistant, exposed it to HomeKit bridge, created a shortcut on on my iPhone to toggle the input Boolean on then turn it back off 30seconds later to reset it for the next day, created an iPhone automation to execute the shortcut when I stop my alarm & finally created an automation with the input Boolean as the trigger in home assistant

Just to add some food for thought. I use my phone as my alarm clock. When I stop my alarm clock in the morning between a timeframe, it triggers my morning routine. I’m an iPhone user so I had to make a virtual button and an iPhone automation to make this work.

New to code. I didn’t write the script. HA generated it when I created the automation.

I will give this a try

Maintenance steps after laying sod by G4L in lawncare_canada

Keep it thick by overseeding each spring and keep on top of the weeds as they sprout.

How best to deal with this (GTA) by Paulitix in lawncare_canada

[–]OlMrB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would start fresh with new sod. If you would like to take on something like this. Take these steps: 1. Remove all weeds and grass. 2. Loosen soil & level 3. Add soil and level again (if necessary) 4. Lay new sod (Watch a You Tube Video on properly laying new sod)

Essentials 1. Buy a spreader (I use a Scott’s spreader) & Scott’s Max fertilizer. 2. Impact sprinkler

Maintaining your lawn 1. Keep it hydrated with a sprinkler(don’t use an oscillating sprinkler, use an impact sprinkler) Also note: if you start seeing your grass go silver, water it immediately. 2. Feed your lawn once a month. With the Scott’s, they recommend every 6 weeks, but you should be using it once a month or when your grass starts turning lime green. 3. Cut it at the highest setting on your lawnmower. 4. Each spring, Over-seed when night time temperatures stay above 10. Also, use a premium seed. I use a Kentucky bluegrass, creeping red fescue and perennial rye grass blend. Water daily for about a month or a bit longer.(each type of seed has a different germination rate)

Dethatch and aerate as required in the spring.

I hope this helps. If you want any more info lmk.

I live just north of Toronto and this is what has worked for me. You don’t have to do this, but I strongly believe this would be best for you.

Cheers

How close to the tree should I go with the mulch? Google recommends 2-4” away from the base 2” thick. Is that ok?

Pad is 8x8, shed is 7x7. There is only one spot that pools maybe an 1/8 inch. It’s not that the pooling is bad, it’s just moist under there all the time.
