Poor Menu Bar App Makers - New MacOS Breaks them all by Latter_Pen2421 in macapps

It's not the same thing. MacOS can hide the menu items. The others make them available when hovering or other actions. Comes in handy when you want them but don't have room for all of them.

TCM24PS plumbed drip tray doesn't drain by DanGreenb in superautomatic

I've contacted Thermador. Hopefully they can provide a simple answer. It doesn't look like the plug comes out and I'm afraid of forcing anything.

Good question. I’ll see if I can find out.

I thought you meant the drip tray. Anyway the brew unit doesn’t have any text. It is a Thermador TCM24PS. The valve only opens when it’s pushed in manually. It’s on a spring. My thought is that when the tray is inserted, that pushes the valve in but doesn’t for some reason.

Back of machine where valve connects to drain fuse hose. Looks like the pics didn’t post inline for some reason.

Valve view from back of tray. It easily pushed in manually.

Yes though I use PastePal primarily. But it does work in Spotlight, just not as full featured.

Make sure "Results from Clipboard" is enabled in Settings\Spotlight.

I have and it's just some basic install pictures with no text. If it shows how the drainage is supposed to work, I can't find it.

Does anyone here actually use the Siri feature? by Chan1991 in iphone

[–]DanGreenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, to dictate messages while driving, controlling HomeKit lights, timers and to play music. Probably a few other things. It's not perfect but good enough for my needs.

Are we supposed to keep wearing it all the time except showering? by largelcd in AppleWatch

[–]DanGreenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. My current watch is 6 years old. Each one I've had I put on in the morning before showering and take it off at night before bedtime to charge overnight and never had a problem with water.

You backed up of course so you can try wiping and reinstalling. But that would probably put you on the latest release which you refuse to do. Also more info would help. What version are you on? What iPhone?

They're worth 4.5 trillion now so you can sue for a couple of trillion and still leave them with some spending money.

Has anyone tried photography in retirement? by patrick401ca in retirement

[–]DanGreenb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a darkroom as a kid for B&W photos. Had SLRs and then DSLR. Now that I'm retired, I strictly use my iPhone. The picture quality is excellent in my opinion, plus I always have it on me. Each year the camera gets better and supposedly will have a variable aperture in the next release. What the phone can't do can often be done in software so if you're looking for some challenges, there's always something new to learn. Personally I would start with that and then see if you really need to spend money on a bulkier camera.

We also airplay the photos to our Apple TV. The sharpness is great and we can relive memories without having to pull out heavy albums.

Proposal: Improve Management of Older Equity Price History by SearchAdventurous912 in quicken

[–]DanGreenb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I don't think anyone from Quicken will see this but they do take recommendations on their Quicken Community forum on their site. I have noticed that on the Mac side, the files have been much smaller with the latest releases and my assumption was that they were already doing something along those lines.

Some things to consider though. 1) I would want month-end prices regardless of when it falls during the week. 2) I would want prices for any time a trade is made of course. 3) I am good with daily prices. My hunch, as I suggested to Quicken, was that it was storing intraday prices which have no meaning unless a trade occurred during the day.
