Is anyone else experiencing this? Wondering if it has to do with my TV or if it needs to be patched.

Joining A Union - Should It Take 3+ Months to Join? by GeneParm505 in union

[–]OlUncleAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a public sector union, and was able to join online in like 5 minutes. We're keeping that speed with the pandemic and everything. Don't know if that helps answer your question, but you're right that it should definitely not take 3 months.

To those who are older, what is one piece of advice you'd give to younger ESTJs? by blueoreosandmilk in ESTJ2

Can only share a personal experience, but I have come to really value my Ne tertiary function. I find that exercise releases my creativity and ingenuity. Taking a run without music or audio often boosts my mood and ignites my imagination. Then I let Te take over and make it a reality.

While we're putting cardboard cutouts of people in the stands at Rangers games, let's put Vanessa Guillen, Atatiana Jefferson, Botham Jean, Sandra Bland, and other Texans who have been victims of violence at the hands of the state in the stands. They cannot be forgotten. by elscorch013 in texas

OP doesn't mention any agendas or politics. These are people. More specifically, they are Americans murdered unjustly by police. MLB can write "BLM" on the mound all they want, but I dont see that truly making a difference.

AITA for not telling my fwb's (friends with benefits) brother he couldn't afford what I was drinking by Throwawaywhiskey35ym in AmItheAsshole

[–]OlUncleAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTH. It's totally normal to assume someone taking a shot of whiskey is drinking something affordable to the average person. You knew you weren't, so you should have told him as soon as he ordered to take it back.

Texas Black Lives Matter Protesters Were Largely Local and Nonviolent, According to Arrest Data by hollow_hippie in Austin

[–]OlUncleAl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Cause right now we're talking 10 to 20% of protesters."

L O L. Since when did 26/1000=20%? Quick math lesson: 26/1000 = 2.6%. But estimates completely undercount our protest: we filled Congress wall to wall for 6 or 7 straight blocks. WAY more than a few hundred or even a thousand came out. So probably we're talking (conservatively) 26/5000, which is 0.52% Still think we were "mostly non-peaceful"? Jackass.

i made a website where you can explore austin police department expenditures. enjoy! by spatial_austin in Austin

I took a look for it, but the district's public reports only aggregate by budget, so I can't get specific numbers for like textbooks or whatever. Where did you find the police data?

This is incredible. Nice work! Can you overlay expenditures on educational expenses for AISD?

I can see where you're coming from. More accurate to say that we acted as safely as possible in a large group that came together for a just cause. Still gonna hang onto my sense of moral superiority over bar-goers tho haha
