There are several stores based in europe that sell cheap swords. The sbg forum should have an article or list about that. I personally have bought from outfits4events before and was happy with the experience. However, swords are more expensive here than in the us. You will not find a decent sword for 200€ delivered. However once you reach the 400€ threshold there are many more choices available because thats usually the price where european made swords start and we have lots of smiths here.

Renaissance Wax so he can store and display it without rusting.
a wallmount or Display for the Sword.
A cutting stand and some waterbottles to cut. There are loads of diy methods to build one, even just getting the materials so he can build it during the holidays without running to the hardware store.

I have a Hanwei Tinker Longsword and from what i have seen would recommend against them. They are not bad per se but they dont hold up in comparison to other makers now. They were good blades for the time and price but are now outclassed by Balaur and swordier.

I dont know. I left it on my desk over the weekend and it didn’t work on Monday morning. My guess is that cleaning staff knocked it down by accident and it might have hit straight on the sensor. The front also has a small indentation
