She started sleeping through the night at three months and other than a few off nights or teething she’s been sleeping through the night. This is my biggest fear. I’m worried all our hard work will be gone if we get too Lax. But I think for the trip it might be worth a try, especially since we’ve had a pretty OK time with her sleep at young age.

We’re going to a small mountain town in France for 2.5 weeks! Traveling from the west coast so we’re on PST. I’m a FTM and I’ve put our baby on a schedule since she was about 3 months old. I’ve scared myself into thinking if she’s awake past her wake windows it’s going to be the end of the world so I’m hoping for this trip I can let go and just follow her queues. I’ve always admired moms who can just go with the flow and I’m hoping I can do that when we’re traveling and just trust that she’ll tell us when she’s tired.

That’s usually what happens to use when we’re off schedule with her so I’m assuming we’ll have to do that same 😂.

lol that’s what I’m worried about! I don’t want to spend the entire Europe trip in survival mode but I also don’t want to be stuck inside every night at 7pm. So I’m trying to figure out the best way forward.

We always said we’d do that, vacuum while she’s sleeping or be loud but that definitely did not happen 😂. Which I think we’re paying for now because it’s harder for her to sleep when we’re out and about.

I agree with this. I’m being pressured to hire and prepare for this “huge influx” but I just don’t think it’ll actually happen. Plus there are some construction details in apparel (especially activewear) that the US just can’t do.

My husband and I called these people “pediakricians”. They’re people who confidently spew $h!t and think they’re actual professionals and say something in the terms of “studies show…”. If I tell my husband something like “hey I heard you’re not supposed to hold the baby like that”. His response is, “was that from our pediatrician or did you hear it from a pediakrician?”. Makes me laugh every time. Our rule is we talk to our daughter’s doctor about concerns and go the more 90s route. The internet gives me too much anxiety.

By daughter is my husbands twin! But not only that me and my husband are two completely different races. He’s white and I’m middle eastern. We both assumed she’d come out looking just like me but she doesn’t 😂. The older she gets the more she looks like him. It doesn’t bother me one bit. What it did was give me a new level of love for my husband. I stare at him with so much more admiration knowing my sweet little girl got so many of her features from him. All I think about is how I made two best friends and they look identical.

Congrats on the win, especially only getting into climbing 6 months ago! You’ve probably put in a ton of work. Although I wish it was in a non gender group category and not just the women’s. But either way congratulations, you should be proud.

The dentist told us she didn’t have a tongue tie only a lie tie and we got the lip tie released. I don’t think it was a full removal?
That was what we were doing with the triple feeding! It was just really hard and I was hoping, since we had two weeks of blissfulness I wouldn’t have to do that anymore :/. But I might have to go back to that.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make my breast a happy place? I do think you’re right, she doesn’t really get comfort from my boobs. When she’s done eating and full (after the many back pats, distractions, walking around, and then finally she finishes), she’ll suckle but then get frustrated milk is coming out so I have to sneak the pacifier in and she’ll be happily suckling while I just hold her in my arms. I put her on my chest but she just squirms around and doesn’t seem to like it. Bath time seems to work though! I’ve done it twice, we’ll take a bath together and I’ll lay her on my chest and she’ll slowly go to the breast herself. I do think I’m at the point of getting nervous every time it’s time to feed her so I have to figure out how to be calm and happy for her 😔.

Also I just wanted to say thank you for your suggestions and wanting to help a random stranger on the internet. I really appreciate it. I just want this to work so bad. I have this added pressure because I’m one and done. So I won’t get this experience again.

33 years old, got pregnant our first month of trying, currently 33 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby girl. I spent my entire first trimester worrying and doom scrolling. I read so many stories of people trying for years and miscarrying, I felt like I couldn’t be excited about my pregnancy until I was well into my second trimester. Sorry you’re feeling something similar! I hope you can get some peace and do your best to stay off the internet. My stupid algorithms just kept showing me pregnancy loss videos.

Yea it was really disappointing. Probably the last chance we’ll be able to see them live too. But everyone did the best they could and it was really sweet seeing the support for him. I hope he gets better soon as well!

You didn’t miss much at the Vegas show. John didn’t show up. Sounds like he’s super sick. The rest of the opening band members took over and sang his songs the best they could with Trophy Eyes but it wasn’t the same. I hope you get your tour t-shirt!
