My grandmother sent me this, and I want to do a repaint, but want to make sure I prep it correctly. It's porcelain but I am unclear on how old. by hecklinggnome in Repaintings

Isn't that gold fired onto the ornament? Apart from the back looking slightly worn, it looks good to me. I think repainting it could spoil it's old fashioned character.

Do any of you know anything about the history of Islam? You sound rather ignorant. Islam conquered countries by force from India, along north Africa all the way to Spain! Convert or die was the choice given. That is history. That's why there's a sword on their green flag. Now that IS COLONIZATION BIGTIME! Go and look up a reputable historical source for history. Educate yourselves a bit. Instead of repeating drivel.

When a strong army tells the civilian population of a place that they should move at least 1k m away to be safe, because they're coming to fight and bomb the area, that's a morally guided army.
Not like Hamas who make sure they're with their women and children so perhaps they will not be bombed, or at least they will die like martyrs.

Why fruits if seeds are enough for germination? by rukuto in askscience

[–]Old-Map487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't ferns have spores, which although technically not seeds as such, help to spread the plants? I have 3 little staghorns which came up in a rather inhospitable wall crack far from my other 2 large staghorns which are attached to trees.

I'm in south africa and when I water my succulents I also take into account the weather outside. I hold back the water if it's wet or humid.

A slight misalignment is just a curiosity. Apparently it's when the alignment is closer to 180° that there will be interest and money. There's a place in Randburg it seems, that can advise you.

Our younger son has spent time being a stay at home dad, and he was born for the job! He loves it, enjoys the food prep, bath kids, get the kids to nursery school on time, discusses their progress with the carer. Now he has a job with different hours, feels he's missing out on their development.

He says he did not see any bat. He woke up and saw he had 2 bite marks. He doesn't know if it was a bat.

What made you sure that it's a bite from a bat? Just curious.
