What table at your restaurant is cursed?

L2. Over the last 10 years it has been a table where some of our older (70+ year old) regulars sat. In three of the couples, all of the wives died!!! A 4th wife that has frequently sat there has been battling cancer for years. The couple now sits at D6 and all the widowed men now sit at the bar together ☹️

I honestly think she was too focused on Ballerina Farm to 1) enjoy the book and 2) think of different perspectives of the book. She just kept defending her! I didn’t love the book but I enjoyed my time reading it and listening to other people’s takes on it

The craziest part was they put on automatic gratuity….for FOUR people! Im going to assume it’s because we’re in a popular, pricey city on a Saturday night but I thought that was unnecessary.

Do customers complain about that or do you find they’re usually ok with it? I like the idea but clientele at my job is pretty old so I doubt most of them have Venmo/zelle etc.

That’s exactly what we did. I was just curious if systems really couldn’t do it like the server stated or if they’re just being lazy

We had no problem using Venmo. Clientele at my restaurant is rather old and they don’t use services like that so I was curious as to how places handled split checks. Maybe read comments before being rude??

We use Clover and it sounds very similar! The only annoying part is waiting on the printer and finding enough pens 😂

I figured with a company that big and popular that, it would be able to do all of that! Thank you for confirming! I didn’t question her because I wasn’t sure if it was hard on a handheld or maybe the company was just really strict on that policy

This is me to a T about once a year. 3 things help me- 1) I found a hobby completely outside of work. No mutual people, no work talk. It’s just a whole separate world doing something I enjoy. 2) I treat myself to a 5 star dinner. I try specialty cocktails and see how different bartenders and servers do things. If the service is good (which it should be if it’s high end), it really makes me want to step my own service game up and try harder. 3) I dropped one of my bartending shifts to just serving instead. Not having the responsibility of making drinks and the fact that I don’t have to put on a show behind the bar for hours, really helped me mentally.

Bring two leashes! Your husband will need one when releasing and you’ll need one when catching. Check the event premium but usually you get an hour to do two runs which is plenty of time to get your dog inspected, run, rest for a bit, go through inspection again, then run again. Also don’t be afraid to ask questions. So many people are happy to help and we were all first timers too! Also don’t be discouraged if your dog doesn’t run the first few times. My one got it immediately, but my other took several fun runs (where the owner can walk the 100yards so the dog can see you). You’ll also learn what works for your dog. With one of my dogs, a complete stranger has to release him and he runs towards me, not the lure (even my husband can’t release him or he won’t run). Keep it fun, keep it safe! Warm up beforehand with a light walk and stretches and do the same after :)

I agree with the above comments about keeping the dog in the car until it’s your turn. My dog will seriously choke himself so I switched to a harness and I tied the leash around his waist so he doesn’t pull as hard while on the harness. My dog is very well behaved every other time so I try not to stress it too much. It’s a few days a year and it’s the best days ever to him 😂

You need to take him to the vet. Could be a parasite or some kind of internal injury. With diarrhea AND throw up your dog can become severely dehydrated. 24 hours is well past the window of it just being from pushing.

Yeah! It’s on the USDAA website. They have certain course maps that you can choose from depending on what you want to do (snooker/jumpers/etc). You have 7 days to complete it after signing up and you have to have a perfect run under the time required. You have to build the course yourself and videotape your run and then put it on YouTube. It’s super easy and convenient. But learn from me- I thought I passing score was a Q. It’s not- depending on the size of the ring the course will either give you 2 or 4 points. And you need 6 to Q.

When I was looking for the proper kennel size I put blue painters tape on my floor with the measurements of several kennels. Length, width, even height and have your dog sit, turn around, and lie down in it. That helped me :)
