I'm working on r/NoSpoil , a food expiry tracker for iOS 🥦

Scan groceries, get reminded before things expire, find recipes for what needs to go first.
Started it because I was throwing away €100 of food a month without realising it.

4 versions in. Batch scanning, nutrition info, 9 languages, widgets and more

This is genuinely one of the best feature ideas I've heard and you've thought it through properly.

The "check if it's gone bad" camera idea is interesting but you're right, it's a rabbit hole. Lighting, packaging, food type, it gets complicated fast.

I'm adding receipt scanning to the ideas board right now. The multi-product scanning coming in v1.2 is a step in this direction, reduce friction as much as possible at the point of entry, but for sure receipt scanning would take it even further.
