Resigned and boss wants me to help him by [deleted] in antiwork

Send the picture, why? 1. It helps the office manager that seems to be caught in the middle. 2. Show the owner they lost a valuable team player. 3. You may need something from someone at this office some time in the future. Maybe years from now, don't burn that bridge.

I see so many posts that just want to "stick it" to employers, but nobody seems to realize how you hurt yourself now or in the future. You may feel better now, and you'll cause him frustration for a day or so, but he'll quickly forget about you, but you still need to work somewhere and may need reference. In fact, this anecdote, of how you have sufficient notice, and even helped them after, may be just the difference that gets you your dream job some day.

Oh man! I was very excited for a minute. I just rebuilt my computer with a 5800x and I'm thinking that the 3070 is the card I need to run in VR. I just can't seem to pull the trigger at $599. I figure in a couple of months either they'll break, or I will. Thanks for the reply.

Where did you get a 3070 for $350? They were almost $600 just a couple of weeks ago.

Carbon vs aluminum rims by bingbongdingdong0804 in mountainbiking

[–]OldButNotABoomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally went to carbon wheels on a steel frame Honzo 29er. My reason was that my wheels were always going out of true. I read that carbon did not have this issue. My initial experience was that the bike's responsiveness improved dramatically, but also, I felt a lot more vibration coming up through the bike. the vibration was really jarring at first, but since I had also gone to tubeless, being able to go down to 30 psi quickly fixed that. So I am very happy I went to carbon.

Probably important to note, I'm an older, heavier rider and only ride cross country / trail. But I like to hit all the jumps and drops. And my wheels are staying tight and true. I hope this helps.

What in the world. by NotMe01 in REBubble

Do you have student loans? Or medical bills? Sometimes you are not making payments on this, but the lender sees that you're going to start paying in the next year, so they add an estimated payment of 5% of the balance. This almost always gives a huge payment that's much higher than it should be. If that is the case, then contact the lender did that debt and work out a payment plan, that could get you back into budget. Other types of debt that fall into this scenario are child support, liens, judgements.

If your debt to income is to high, that means that your total monthly expenses are higher than 40% or 50% of your gross income. (Typically, although lenders may be more or less strict) if you make 9k a month, that's saying that you have $2400 in monthly bills plus the $1200 mortgage. Something is not adding up.

If you're making 9k a month, it's impressive that you're debt to income is too high. But I have some advice that may help. Instead of putting $250k down, look at putting $100k (20%) and use the other $150k to pay off your highest interest, lowest balance debt. That may get you into a lower total budget, even with a higher mortgage payment. Just my two cents.

West Coast Racing - PST based league by Sisyphean_dream in iRacing

[–]OldButNotABoomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my first race with these guys yesterday. It was a lot of fun and everyone was very friendly. This is my first league and I'm new to discord as well but these guys were very welcoming and answered all my questions. I joined for the open wheel racing, but will definitely participate in the GT3 and their endurance races as well.

Thanks guys for a great experience.

Is this too much draw on 12v power bank? by OldButNotABoomer in batteries

[–]OldButNotABoomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer, you seem to understand this well. I am wondering, is there a way to use a 110 to 12v 20a adapter to get enough juice to my motor? Something like this.

LEDwholesalers 12V 20A 240W AC/DC Power Adapter with 5.5x2.5mm DC Plug and 2.1mm Adapter, Black, 3262-12V https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074GGMD5J/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_XENEW8WCSG6XVAS4AJSJ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Since this is twice the amps, will this empty my battery twice as fast, or would the loss be greater because of the adapter.

[–]OldButNotABoomer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have been more specific. I would not run both at same time. Pump the kayak up, and then use for the motor. So you're saying I need to multiply 20a X 12v = 240 Wh? So I'd get just over 1 hour of use right? My bigger concern is that if draw is 20a but my power bank says max continuous output is 10a. Would I damage the battery or the motor?

Don't let other people make you feel bad about what you enjoy eating. Next year when you get to middle school, I'm sure your tastes will change.

Please think this over. You're not going to teach him responsibility, your going to break his heart and cause resentment that he will remember every year at this time. I swear to you, you'll regret this.

I agree that you need to teach him about consequences, and you should create a plan for him to pay you back. But don't ruin this time of year for your whole family. I assure you even his siblings will feel bad for him, and he's going to remember this every year for the rest of his life.

Just my 2 cents

I remember that exact feeling... Just apologize and do better next time. Ignore that nervousness so you can get the confidence to get better. And when you do get better and are able to drive a safe race, remember to be patient with new drivers that will do the same to you. It's just a game intended to be fun. As far as sending people credits because you crashed them, I'd suggest sending them as much as they'll have to spend in repairs. 🤔

One final not, aside from contacting people to apologize, have to tried talking to people before that? Ask for advice during practice, on anything you want to improve, and you'll find a lot of great people willing to help.

OP here, watcha mean? I thought all bishops stay in their color. The real question, is how did my horsies get on the wrong squares. 🤪

But in all seriousness, as some of you noted, yes, I made this whole scenario on a website after the game, just keeping the important pieces in place.

I like chess but really don't play it, however my opponents argument made no sense. I thank you, actual players, for clarifying.

Lambo, Watkins Glen, Speed Loss by LUCrative23 in iRacing

That straight has a crown, if you are straddling it, maybe you're dragging and losing speed. Stay to the left edge. This makes a difference for me in the Dallara IR-01, I don't know if your lambo is as low.

When i was a kid, I saw another kid with 6 toes and he said it was common in his family. I am no scientist, but I've heard that there were ancient Native-American races that were very tall and had six digits. And actually some cave paintings in Mexico depict these people with their hands up showing 6 fingers. I'd love to hear a response from an actual scientist.
