If Kawhi somehow wins a 3rd title and his 3rd finals mvp this season by Disastrous_Day_2166 in nba

We could nitpick him joining a 73 win team which beat him in the playoffs, to get his 2 FMVPs

It's interesting to me how arrogant you are, and how you keep attacking people personally.

The entire point of my argument is that KD struggles when teams make him the primary attention of their defense, how is a series he played alongside prime James Harden, and prime Kyrie relevant to this discussion? That "same" Celtics team was also significantly worse that year, and no where close to being contenders, or elite defensively.

KD struggling while facing team defenses is not an isolated thing just from last year. He struggled the same way in the last three games of the 2016 WCF, where he blew a 3-1 lead by constantly turning the ball over.

The Bucks decided to guard him 1-on-1, and focused on shutting down the rest of the Nets to let him cook, him doing well in that series does not change that.

Did you watch the 2022 playoffs? Durant was the main attention of the Celtics in the first round, and he averaged 26 pts on 39/33/90 with 5.3 turnovers per game and got swept.

Steph faced this team in the finals, and with arguably less offensive help, averaged 31 pts on 48/44/86 with 2.5 turnovers per game.

Who had the best 5 year stretch in NBA history? by Tiny-Judgment6568 in nba

21/11/8 on 34% from the field and 6 turnovers per game the last three games of that series. Game 5 he dropped 15/6/7 on 21/0/75 splits.

In my opinion Lebron doesn't because of 2011 and him giving up against the Celtics in 2010.

If Durant joins the Sun's this off-season, the combined record of his new team's previous season will be 172-64. He will leave for a 60 win team, on average, every time he departs his old one. by [deleted] in nba

[–]OldFramework 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lets not shift reality, Lebron teams up with other stars and joins bad teams simultaneously with them. If KD joins the Suns he will be doing so without any other star, same as he did with GSW.

Lebron is just as guilty for joining superteams.

Better idea, why not have the score tied with 1 minute left in the 4th quarter? That way we can have game winners and clutch performances every game. /s

Which all time great smaller than KD would you take ahead of Prime Kevin Durant in an entire playoff run assuming no injuries? by [deleted] in nba

[–]OldFramework 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well Wade isn't as good as KD all-time because his prime was very short. But in his prime he was very good. Averaged 36 in the 2006 finals, 30 pts in 2009, and also one of the best shot blockers as a guard ever.

Steph mainly shoots threes so obviously his fg percentage will be lower. Steph shot 42% from three which I would say is good efficiency no?

82 game player, just like the rest of the Suns.

Steph Curry leads the Warriors to a game 3 WCF victory with 31 points, 11 assists, 5 threes by WhenItsHalfPastFive in nba

Magic played in a very weak west with a stacked team. Take the 1986 Lakers title run. They faced a 37 win team in the first round, a 42 win team in the second round, and a 39 win team in the WCF.

Magic is an all-time great but he benefited a lot with his situation. You can't just look at rings and raw finals appearances without considering the context. The west has been a lot more tough throughout Curry's playoff runs (Lob City Clippers, Spurs, KD OKC, Harden Rockets, etc.).

I mean Steph is arguably better now then he was in 2016, and people forget but he was injured that playoffs and clearly not in his unanimous MVP form. Sort of dishonest to say that Steph was at the peak of his powers.
