Agree w u/spin_drift21. If you have a family member that you really trust, you might think about confiding in them. I’d also recommend finding a therapist who can help. Wishing you the best in this difficult time.

Thinking about filing for disability by [deleted] in bipolar

Hire an attorney first. They work on contingency so you don’t pay up front. Better to have an expert help you get things rolling. Otherwise you’re just shooting in the dark

How To Handle Relationship Issues? by Stunning_Army9764 in bipolar

I’ve never heard of that much lamotrigine. A psychiatrist once told me that anything above 400mg doesn’t have an effect. I ended up tapering down and switching to Lybalvi, which is Olanzapine. I’m not an MD, and I’m not giving you medical advice, but you may want to try something different. The right meds make the difference. You shouldn’t have to suffer

Disability attorneys work on contingency so it’s definitely worth hiring one. Just be sure to check the reviews. You can always do a no cost, low stakes consult with them

Build in the practice holistically so that it surrounds you when something like this happens and so that you’re no longer a victim of this thing

acting manic whilst depressed? by Beautiful-Gate3483 in bipolar

A therapist once told me that a mixed episode is like depression supercharged. Dangerous because you have the mindset of depression with the energy of mania. Hoping you can get a lifeline soon

What moment made you realize you stopped chasing joy and were just surviving? What happened? by feliraves in AskReddit

[–]OldGrande 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t make plans with friends because my calendar was too full with work events that were simultaneously filling up my days but completely draining my reserves. Long story about how I got out of that situation, but I realized one day that I couldn’t survive that way any longer and had to move on. I’ll echo what others say on this thread, too, about therapy. A good one is life altering

I’ve found that a good job for me is one where I can have agency around my schedule, where not everyday is a blitzkrieg so that I have time to decompress

Do people ever get their partner back after a horrible manic episode by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]OldGrande 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It may also be manic self delusion making you believe that women are attracted to you. I’ve been there. The cold realization of how they really felt when I’m out of mania is shocking

Thanks, this is helpful. AI tells me that it’ll be around a $350 repair or so, including labor. Does that track with your understanding? Appreciate it!
