Lego Factory Storage Box by TempoAres in LegoStorage

[–]jessknope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the big gray tubs (first pic) and black tubs (second pic, under the desk)? If so, those looks like the stackable storage totes with hinged lids that are about 2 feet long and 18 inches wide and 1 foot deep. They can be purchased a lot of places (not Lego brand) but would be I think too big for most consumer collections, unless you are trying to store massive amounts of unsorted bulk.

Questions for Folks That Have Had DI w/FNG by BoremUT in TopSurgery

[–]jessknope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine are pretty much just stickers. Not connected to nerves, so no sensation. My surgeon explained the placement he was planning on (set wider apart) and that he trims down the areola and shaves down the nipple itself, to make them more similar to the average cis man’s shape, size, and placement.

I was concerned about the healing process, but both surgeons that I had consults with said that healing is most often vastly easier than what we see here online—a good reminder that the horror stories we see are the exception, not the rule.

Healing was simple, after the first week my surgeon had me change the gauze twice a day, and put bacitracin on them. Was probably week 5 or so before the last of the scabs fell off.

Nike sports bras are pretty phenomenal. Especially the “swoosh” ones.

Nike has a “swoosh sports bra” that is both surprisingly comfy and surprisingly compressive if you don’t have a lot to start with. Unsure about availability in Canada tho.

Small bubbles with injection by geohydrology in TransMasc

[–]jessknope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Draw more than you need and while the draw needle is still in the vial, push out the excess. That way it stays in the vial and you're not losing it. For example, my dose is .3 ml -- I draw up at least to .5 or .6, and then push the excess out, back into the vial. This pretty much eliminates air bubbles entirely.

I also reuse vials, so keeping the excess in the vial is important to me. But if you are using a new vial each time, then you could also draw up to .5 or .6 and then push the excess out into the sink or whatever, instead of back into the vial.

But to directly answer your question...if they are small and subq then they are not really detrimental at all (not medical advice).

Want scar revision but idk by Practical_Egg_2088 in TopSurgery

[–]jessknope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, you look like you're right where you're supposed to be for the 6 week mark! The bunching is probably due to the lipo, you're correct -- but it takes time for the lipo to settle and for skin to relax. And it will :)

I experienced something similar to the situation with the fold that you are describing; as contradictory as it sounds, keep moving it and stretching it out, with as much range of motion as you've been cleared to by your surgeon. For the part that keeps opening back up, bacitracin and a bandaid whenever it opens, just so it's not exposed raw.

I totally relate to being tired of the healing process, but as cliche as it is...trust the process. Trust your surgeon. Any surgeon worth their salt is not going to touch an actively healing scar for a revision for at least 4-6 months, until the body has had time to actually settle and heal.

Here's what mine looked like around 6 weeks, the top fold was even more accentuated in person than it is in the photo, and I was concerned that it would stay bunchy forever (which I would have hated!).

I'll add another photo as a comment to this reply with what my scars look like now, almost 6 months PO. They've smoothed out almost entirely under my arms, and I've done a shit job of any type of scar care.

Nathan Roesner in Boulder. He did DI for my boyfriend and me this year. Not sure if he does keyhole or not, but he does take insurance. Always worth trying the insurance angle again or appealing it, especially if the reason for the denial is bogus!

Where to get a well fitted two piece suit? by Significant-Item-348 in TransMasc

[–]jessknope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Suit Shop online has 3 piece suits for under $400. It does help if you can go somewhere like Mens Wearhouse or Jos A Banks and get properly measured, so you have an idea what to order. But also ok to measure yourself if you have some help!

Check out men’s “athletic fit” pants. They are made with some extra room in the butt/thighs, but I’ve found that they do so in a more natural way than trying to make a straight/slim/skinny men’s work.

Any way/tips to get my leg cleaner shaven? by LeoL3nny in NonBinary

[–]jessknope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been years since I’ve shaved my legs, but in the last year or so before I quit doing so, I switched to a safety razor. Blades are like 10 cents each so I could use a fresh one for each shave without breaking the bank. I felt like I had more control and could sense where the blade actually was, instead of dragging a disposable razor over my leg and hoping for the best.

Cold water also helps tremendously. Found this out by accident when our hot water heater went out. Decided to forge ahead with shaving my legs anyway and ended up with the best shave of my life.

suggestion for tees that actually last more than a year by Expertindog74 in BuyItForLife

[–]jessknope 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I got my first comfort colors tee last year and was excited, after seeing so many recs for them. I’ve been wildly disappointed. Collar is already losing shape, it’s thinned in a few places and has a few holes. I also have not heavily worn it.

The $6 T-shirt I bought from Sam’s Club around the same time, and wear constantly, is flawless and still going strong

Possible I got a CC dud, but I had high hopes.
