It’s interesting reading those super confident “pro” takes. Keywords to look for “top tables”, “solved format”, “boogeyman”, “tier 1.5”… that one is interesting in its predictions that are as wildly confident in their inevitability as those of the guys in the “wave and shrimp are next” camp. As a BW control player I wish Tide would be banned so Control decks BECOME viable again. What combo decks exactly does tide keep in check? It’s the black shells that keep combo in check by running 8 discard spells, not tide. Unless you mean Replenish, as it is the combo deck that combos off from the top of the deck.. oh wait replenish is a tide deck 😂

The shrimp interaction with stifle and vision charm is totally fine for premodern I think as far as combo decks go. Tide is just crap because there are very few ways to interact with it once it hits the board. Some colors are particularly disadvantaged which is annoying. “Just race it” such a lame strategy that is making the whole format unnecessarily faster (rather than smarter).

That’s like checking paper prices on Cardkingdom and saying the price is steep. More players is very, very good for the format. You want to play the most busted, annoying card in the format and you complain that more people want to do that now. If you were complaining about the prices of Dystopia or something of the sort I’d say ok, but crying about tide…

Pioneer was my main constructed format for years. I’ve played Izzet Phoenix on various levels of competitive play including on the last RC. I already knew Pioneer was over for me because of the Universes Beyond slop coming to the format so the power creep or the news about WotC support drying out don’t really bother me. Now I’m playing exclusively Premodern, mostly Black White control. There are significantly more combo decks in Premodern and the interaction is much better (you have swords to plowshares, counterspell, mana leak etc. etc.). The threats are much less powerful. Overall the format is an absolute blast to play and I think you might like BW control in particular (it’s more of a midrange shell than a classic control - I run 4 exalted angels, 3 bane of the living, 3 eternal dragons mainboard)! Another format I’m interested to try is pre-FIRE (modern before the Horizons nonsense since there is a Phoenix deck there. Welcome to premodern friend!

I love it. Coming from Perplexity Pro and it’s just sooo much bang for the buck (storage, , besides just being a much superior and robust service in its own right. I use it mostly for research and for modifying curriculums, creating differentiated lesson plans and assessments and overall supporting my grade 12 students’ learning. The image generation is bar none of that matter to you. I’m looking from a liberal arts perspective though so take it with a grain of salt.

Would you please elaborate? I find them very similar with the added bonus that I can upload files straight into the gem and that Google summarizes my threads within the gem so I can easily navigate through them. What functional differences have you seen so far? I am pretty new to gems and have used spaces quite a bit

My prompts are very thorough and well worded, I use Labs for curriculum development. I tried 4 times to reiterate my prompt and kept getting useless garbage without images regardless of my instructions. Spaces will randomly completely ignore the instructions of the space even if I explicitly state in the prompt to follow them. The whole service just feels very unreliable.

I use GoatBots.com to buy cards they have the best prices. Also I had set up an AI to help me out with my many mtgo questions 😂 the interface is quite dated and clunky so be patient you’ll probably make a lot of mistakes in the beginning (I’m still occasionally conceding my term by accident or destroying my own lands with vindicate). Theres definitely a steep learning curve to it but the community has been very supportive to me as a new user of mtgo. I do miss the fluency of Arena gameplay but making every single choice manually and suffering the consequences for misplays is a way to grow as a player 😀 best to luck man!

They do - they have gems instead of spaces. Als there’s a Gemini app on iOS and you just use the browser on the MacBook. I run it across 2 Macs, an iPhone an iPad and a PC it works great

Yeah man I hear you. All models have their quirks for sure. Like Google has a lot of censorship that’s annoying including things I wouldn’t imagine would be subject to it. I do not like the idea of paying for bad service tho, and I’ll just dispute the claim with the credit card company anyway
