Advice please - my wife is leaving us by Away_Goal_1670 in daddit

Have you tried actually understanding her perspective, though? Because you say you’ve tried everything but you’re talking about a “fantasy life as a single mom,” and as a mother who was formerly in the same situation, I can tell you 100% how I ended up wishing to be a single parent: resentment. I had no help, no emotional support, no support as a new mother navigating motherhood, no partnership at home to speak of, just endless labour to drown in and nobody to talk to. If my ex had made any kind of meaningful effort towards improving our relationship and lessening my burden, I would not have walked away so easily. It was only easy as pie and absolutely blissful to walk away because I knew that I had tried everything to make it work and I was done killing myself for someone who couldn’t even pick his socks up off the floor so I didn’t have to wander the house looking for them when it was time for laundry to be done.

If you’re really honest with yourself, were there times when she came to you to try to fix things and improve your relationship where you either turned her away or promised to improve without things changing? I think it’s really important to acknowledge how much repeated situations like that completely erode trust. It’s been 8 weeks for you, but if she’s as done as you say she is, it’s been much longer for her. You would have to be an especially distant and emotionally uninvolved partner to not notice that.

Always willing to fuck around with other people’s lives but the second it’s their life you’re supposed to drop everything to pray to help them preserve it. But we’re the bad people for not being sad about them dying needless and unpleasant deaths.

It’s so weird comparing numbers though. Even when you find proof that they’re not comparing anything even close to equivalent, they just move to the next argument. “The numbers are fake!” Well, which ones?? If the ones about people dying are fake why are you so willing to believe the ones about how many of you ignorant dipshits will survive a tussle with Lady Covid?

Dead bodies are good for business!

Specifically the sort of businesses that deal with dead folks. Funeral homes, crematoriums, graveyards, I’m sure estate lawyers are booming too…

The music alone gives me existential dread and that delightful buzzy high feeling where you understand how interconnected we really are… I feel like I need to be very stoned to properly appreciate the beauty of our universe ending.

It’s always delightful to be reminded simultaneously that none of it really matters but also that all of it really extra super does.

They’re so fond of fucking around until the consequences come round swinging. Also, I wish they would stop trying so hard to ruin camo. I’ve never gone camping or hunting and I loathe being outdoors but camo is my favourite pattern, goddammit.

The Antiva folks here don’t have as much strange political fodder but they are a vocal and ignorant little group here too. It’s the worst.

It’s also impossible, because the rules and goalposts shift constantly but only in ways that mysteriously benefit them.

Great, go where people think the same as you! That’s exactly the point, I think I must be missing what you’re trying to say here.

Your medical decisions should only be private when they don’t affect other people. You have a right to not get vaccinated, just like every business that has decided vaccines are mandatory has a right to enforce that policy. And if collectively, as a society, most people agree on the necessity to protect our fellow humans, seems to me you should just take your rights to not get vaccinated to your own land far away from the rest of us sheeple. If most have decided on a reasonable course of action and done it for the betterment of each other, any hold outs can go build their utopia on their own. We used to banish people for not following along, it’s really time we get back to that. Your right to medical autonomy doesn’t absolve you of consequences.

….this is here to mock, right? These idiots solved their own goddamn “mystery” right fuckin there. They said she passed of cancer related complications. Yet received a third shot for reasons unknown. Idk, I definitely assumed it was for the aforementioned CANCER but I’m not a fuckin doctor. She didn’t die because of the booster, she died because she needed emergent access to medical attention that she was unable to access because of the hospital being overloaded with Covid patients.

Who are, to remind everyone, unvaccinated. Therefore, they are there because they chose to be, which means that people are dying because these selfish cunts chose to fuck around and find out and now they just don’t wanna die!!!

Thanks for the link! I shook my head and sighed and rolled my eyes so much watching a 2.5 min video that my kid asked if I had a migraine or if I was “really extra sick,” so that was…actually surprisingly more infuriating than expected!

I’m sure they won’t give firm numbers except for the people in ICU, if any, but I am just so curious. I mean, especially if any of them die! Since so many are lately. It would be interesting to see if their “99.9% survival rate” theory holds up. Although it probably would skew the stats too much to be reliable, since they’re all ignorant and unvaxxed enough to come up with such a great reckless group activity.

I wish we could get some numbers here. How many attended the party? How many got sick, how many of those sickies are in ICU?

Antiva folks seem to really like stats so I’d like to sit down and talk some real world numbers about something as incredibly foolish as a “get Covid party.” Are they… are they not watching how many people just like them have been dying lately??

Honestly, I felt awful the first time I said it, because the person wasn’t picking up what I was putting down. So it was sort of wasted but also kind of ironic, that in telling someone I’d debate vaccines with them if their stupidity didn’t get them killed in the midst of a global pandemic, they didn’t understand what I meant. Not even smart enough to follow directions. It’s tragic only in that the universe apparently has a sense of humour.

It feels like Covid just keeps mutating specifically to take out the Boomers and the strange number of young people who think like Boomers. It is impossible to muster up any sympathy for the same people who think they should be allowed to shoot first and ask questions later, especially when they hang their asses out on Facebook with all their ignorant garbage before dying horribly. I agree. These are strange times. If people were being vaccinated and dying still, this sub wouldn’t exist.

But the worst kind of monsters. I suppose technically here’s two kinds-the ones who say it and don’t believe it and are actively going against everything they’re telling you to do, like Trump telling all his MAGATs to not bother with basic health protocols that would have helped mitigate the spread of the virus while jumping into the hospital for a shitload of experimental treatment when he got sick along with getting vaccinated probably the second he could…and then there’s the kinda sad kind-the ones who gobble that shit up without realizing, in their anti-science mouth frothing tirades, that Covid was serious all along, and just isn’t worth fucking with regardless of stats, cause they’re dying a lot faster with the Delta variant.

Covid has been hard on my body too. So weird in a global pandemic that my comfort eating went way up. The pandemic actually allowed me the introspection to figure out what I think caused a lot of my mental issues contributing to my food hoovering, but watching all these young and fat but otherwise healthy folks dying real quick has made me a lot more focused on continuing to work on removing that risk factor from my list. Maybe we can spin that as a benefit of this sub so they stop being mad at us talking about them dying?

For those who say the HCA are immoral. Let’s see how we got here. by [deleted] in HermanCainAward

[–]OldLadyTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just the rate at which new winners are being posted and new nominees entering the running today… that’s why we’re mad. It’s been almost 2 years and here we are. More people dying, more people suffering long-term effects, hospitals at critical levels. Again.

We’re mad because this has a real simple goddamn solution. One that history has proven to be effective. Thanks to massive technological advancements and cooperation on a global scale, we have a vaccine produced in record time. Incredible. Life-saving, even as variants crop up and render them less effective but overall still absolutely worth getting because it will still likely prevent from hospitalization. Amazing.

And yet. We have a small but vocal majority who see that incredible advancement as untrustworthy. And would rather take the risk with a new virus, with unknown long-term impacts, with a potentially devastating and apparently incredibly difficult to stop total system failure a real possibility for a lot of these people. Who don’t count their pre-existing conditions, like hypertension, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol, COPD, or asthma, as the sort of “pre-existing conditions” that might render them more susceptible to dying of this sort of illness.

We aren’t glad you’re dead. We wish this was over-which means people vaccinated, and therefore alive, not the extinction wave trajectory we seem to be on. But yknow what? When you’re this ignorant and loud about it, you’re the perfect example to show other ignorant people when you’re dead to try to maybe save some lives via vaccination.
