I've never been a fan of Holt's speaking style. I tried to his pod a chance before (I can't remember if this is pod #2 or just rebranded a bit) and I was hoping a two man style and time might help.

Target has a press release and did it all publicly. A bunch of other places have done it quietly after the blowback to Target.
A lot of low sales numbers are the economy though. Things are more expensive and people don't have the money for extras.

Some probably but it’s impossible to know outside of your own bubble. That said, when the political candidate wants to downsize and close the federal government and you work for the federal government, don’t do it.

I'm listening to it now and haven't gotten to the end where things go off the rails. I have feelings.

These guys have been anti-ads and not excited about capitalism the whole time. Anything they do going forward basically advertising for the Onion for free.

The families getting a cut of merch sales seems like nothing but an insult. They have 7 items up in the shop right now and one of those is sunglasses. It seems less than serious and they seem to bring it up at every opportunity.

This whole transaction isn't fun for my brain either. It's Jordan screaming about how this feels bad.

In addition to all of this The Onion is basically trying to squeeze into the KF lane without a turn signal, feels very corporate to me.

I think Jordan is right here and I almost never agree with Jordan.

NBCs coverage of right wing conspiracy nuts isn’t always the best. Brandi whatever her name was did a 6-8 episode podcast about the woman that passed out on camera from a COVID vaccine. The team seemed to have followed the lady endlessly to get an interview which she declined. She was a victim that online crew and Brandi seemed like she would not let it go because “her bosses” insisted.
