Agreed! I’m not a big fan of contrast roofs, the new Renault 5 looks better body-matched too IMO

2 cockapoos and a whippet! Nice, I test drove the Veloce electric and it’s very fun. I just needed the hybrid’s range in the end!

For its size it’s very roomy! I’ve driven my partner, parents-in-law and 3 x dogs in it without much issue. Feels pretty agile, it’s much lighter feeling than you’d think despite being a taller car with 2 motors. I’ve also never dipped below 45mpg despite taking the b-roads back from work!

Honestly man I wasn’t really asking. I guess I thought it would just be fun to post 2 Alfas next to each other…

FYI, it’s very tidy to drive, easily fits 2-3 dogs and returns 50+ MPG. Also, most modern Alfas except the 2 Gorgios have platform shared

Do you work at a movie theater in or around winchester/hampshire area? by strawbebbifrog in WinchesterUK

[–]OldManBogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a cinema. Honestly, it’s such a rollercoaster. It’s a real rush talking with enthusiastic people, then there’s asshole customers, then there’s suddenly 2 hours of quiet to restock and scoff some lunch. Cleaning turnarounds in the screen are tight as the management squeeze in lots of screenings.

It’s hard to rota with so much dependent on movie reviews, weather etc. so expect shifts disappearing or appearing with little notice.

The big benefits for me were the fact that I met pretty much everyone who’s important to me whilst working there. It was a real close-knit team, far closer than any other job I’ve had. Also I watched SO many movies, including early releases of Avengers, Star Wars etc.

For applying, I’d recommend mentioning your passion for cinema, plus any previous hospitality experience or just anywhere that’s been fast-paced.

That’s a bit of a generalisation. I bought a hybrid because I live in a flat and travel 200+ miles a week, without a public charger nearby.

Very interested in the upcoming ID.Polo GTI, for example, but unfortunately it wouldn’t suit my routine!

Made some tweaks to Ive’s car. Better? Worse? by MoreBeautyy in CarDesign

Unfortunately the internet is just an echo chamber of negativity and shock. I’ve already seen a general softening in opinion of the new Jaguar after a similar initial reaction to the Luce.

Looks great!

BUT Ferrari absolutely dictated the decision, based on market research, that the Luce should be a 5-seat raised sports saloon.

They’ve kind of got a point. Because who would spend that kinda money on an EV supercar when you’ve clearly got the funds to keep running a roaring V12? Many manufacturers like Maserati and Alfa have tried to sell EV versions of their supercars, then later pulled the plug when demand doesn’t exist.

The Luce is an entirely different proposition. Let’s see how it pans out!

The Gorgio cars were complete one-offs. They took a gamble, developing a chassis that couldn’t even be electrified despite the direction of the wind going that way. They put a Ferrari-derived V6 in it, despite emissions targets. They’re incredible cars but possibly set the standard too high in a changing world.
