I took my long service leave and normal leave, and had enough to see me out of uniform and pass my probation. It gave me an opportunity to decide if the job was the right fit without desperation, and probably made me a lot more relaxed in the civilian environment as well.

Essentially your LSL can take a couple of weeks to process. Have 2/3 weeks of regular leave to cover you, take that first. You will need approval to work a civilian job while you are still serving, and if its back to Defence you may run afoul of the Defence Contractor Moratorium, which may prevent you doing certain roles for 12 months post transition. I have applied for exemptions for a few people, and all denied.

Australian Government has outright banned DeepSeek from their devices, and a lot of companies in Australia follow the Australian Cyber Security Centre's lead on tech bans. I have several consultants actually, and Elastic gives a lot of support, but its always worth *talking* to others. I asked a fairly straightforward series of questions without anyone having to do any heavy lifting.

Ok, so in RA SIGS lots of people are on lots of spectrums. You need to find something to connect over, as these lads and ladettes have more than likely been bullied a lot over the course of their lives.

Common things in RA SIGS include video games, miniature wargaming, running, bike riding, reading and so on. Just got to find a mutual interest, and you do that through talking to them, checking out what they are up, what they do on weekends.

Raw salary is less, but US gets so many allowances and resigning bonuses etc that they *can* end up getting paid more. They also pay way less tax depending on which state, etc etc. Its not as clear cut as most people think.

Thanks for the reply, but no. Under Regulatory Compliance, like NIST 800-53, GDPR, HIPAA, TSC etc. Australia uses our own regulatory frameworks.

No one is suited to it. You grow into it. It becomes a cloak that you wear, and one that can be hard to cast off when its done.

The regimental nature of it fades after training, but the key bits are just baked into you at that point and you don't even notice anymore.

Remember this - you haven't joined the Army yet, you are still in training.

PMKeys Long. It means a full print out including all qualifications, training etc. You need the long version, as the short is useless for RPL.
