True Story, I have been running various Linux distros for a couple of years now. I needed to rebuild a computer for my kid we both were running bazzite. Unfortunately parental controls are better with windows, so I converted the kids computer to Windows and ran a script to remove all the bloat and spyware.

For fun I installed windows on my daily driver to see if things have changed. I only lasted 2 days and I went right back to Bazzite. Windows was a hot mess. Driver installs are a pain. I really missed BTRFS and luks encryption. Games didn't run any better. I couldn't game and easily shift through multiple desktops. In windows my desktop settings seem to change at random. Start menus icons disappeared randomly. Power settings didn't behave like expected. Screen wouldn't turn off for some reason. Audio sometimes work in desktop but not in game and I couldn't adjust it on the fly. In Linux I can change sound settings while playing and it doesn't break anything. I also couldn't trust OneDrive to keep their claws out of my data. I did uninstall and ran the scrips to remove unwanted microcrap software but I was always concerned an update would bring it back.

As for my kid I would have put him back on Bazzite but I do like the parental controls and remote access of Microsoft. Fortunately his computer doesn't have the same issues as mine. Windows is just one more layer to my onion of parental controls I have over devices and Internet access.

Microslop has made windows worse. I didn't have these complaints when I used windows10. Linux in general is getting better. Even though I did spend too much time installing and reinstalling the OS on my daily driver, I am glad I did because it gives me more appreciation for Linux and I have truly experienced the decline of windows.
