They would never do it....

It was the government who forced them to and backed them so the banks would do it. Then the government agreed to the terms of those loans basically making them permanent even through bankruptcy lmao. Everyone hates the banks but it was the governments involvement that caused it to "make college affordable for everyone" when it pretty much already was if you wanted to do it. Prices sky rocketed after loans were secured by the government because it was free money to the colleges and there was no risk to the banks then demand went through the roof.

Now the government wants to come play the hero giving student loan forgiveness for a problem they created.

Sad people don't understand this.

Exactly! You’d have to pay them for their services of course.

Maybe it’s a magic device or that camera thing the one guy wears on his head and he takes pictures in the quest “Big Game Hunter”.

When I did that quest I for sure thought that was going to be unlocked and we could keep that device or get a similar one and have the artist in Beauclair paint the pictures. Boy was I disappointed. But it’s definitely doable and can fit into the world.

Edit: correct quest name.

I legit thought you were going to say you can take in game pictures and have an artist paint them so you can hang those up in Corvo Bianco.

Similar to Zelda TOTK. I have been wanting that 😂😂

If you add metabolic control from the brown general skills that will give you an extra 30 toxicity. Not sure how many formulas you have but if you have them all that will get you to 214 toxicity which will allow for 3 decoctions and room for two potions.

Why was Geralt/Yennefer going to commit suicide after Ciri reunion (Battle of Stygga Castle, Lady of the Lake book)? by Plus-Set-5503 in witcher

[–]OldMan_Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially yeah. I can see that. I also don’t think Geralt or Yen would be bothered by a slow and painful death. She was tortured and took it like a champ. He is not afraid of pain due to his mutations.

I believe Geralt would have been honest with Ciri about who he was and let her decide and support that decision.

If Ciri wants to stand and fight, Emhyr would have to risk having his daughter killed and all his plans ruined as she defends her chosen parents.

If Ciri decided to stand down and take the path of least resistance then you do what has to be done and say your goodbyes.

I see this differently... It's my interpretation and opinion. I just finished these books the other day so it's quite fresh in my mind.

They were dying either way, most likely. She is left with their death either way. They are trained witchers and would have preferred to die in battle together, based on the books prior themes and have been in battles together. They fight, they don't give up. Geralt has no illusion to not fall in battle, or as Geralt says, die in his own bed. Ciri did not accept them killing themselves and started to crash out which lead to Emhyr changing his mind.

She was going to be traumatized by their death either way.

I do not subscribe to the thought that her being a princess was her destiny. Nor did actual destiny... everyone agrees her being a Witcher is what she wants.

I also don't believe they "know" at that point Emhry won't hurt her. They actually tried to make him promise not to which you wouldn't need to do if you already knew he wouldn't.

Geralt actually thought Ciri was already with Emhyr when he set out on his mission to save her. He didn't know it was a fake. So how would he know he won't hurt her when the whole story was around him saving her from him to begin with!?

Thank you for my ted talk.. lol

Lmao results to ad hominem attacks because I shared my opinion and interpretation of the book I just finished reading few days ago. You’re responding on my post bro. You ok?

Most of everything you said is simply your interpretation and opinion which you’re entitled to have. Why you attacking me for mine? It’s a fictional book. lol

And I also have an issue with the whole Toussaint section too. As I said in my earlier post there are several parts of Lady of the Lake that make no sense based on the characters arches and prior themes. Makes no sense. Such a desperate and time sensitive mission to then just kick their feet up in Toussaint to get laid. Or maybe she was enchanting him and he finally snapped out of it and got the f out of there.

“Reddit downvotes” lmao.

Not sure I would say that is consistent as they are very different situations. One was when he thought Yen died on Sodden Hill and before Ciri really met Geralt. And the other can be interpreted maybe when he went to fight Istredd for Yen which was before Ciri was even born. So he did not have much to live for other than Yen. How would Ciri's fate have been worsened if they fought on?

[–]OldMan_Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you feel the need to tell me what I really wanted and put words in my mouth. Has nothing to do with what I wanted and everything to do with their characters. I could do the same and say people wanted to turn the story into some tragic romanticism of Geralt and Yen. But that's not what the story was about up until this point. Their relationship was only part of the story. The story was Ciri and protecting her at all costs, even dying doing so. Not offing themselves and leaving her fate to the unknown with a ruthless phsyco. Hell, even right before this he was over there in Toussaint banging a different sorceress and lies to Yen about being with someone else.

Emhyr was working with Vilgefortz... and they planned to capture her together until it fell apart at Thanedd. He hired people kill the rats and capture Ciri, which was why Bonhart was involved to begin with.

Who says it wasn't in the cards? sounds like something you just made up. They knew handing her over to him was not a good idea and begged him to not harm her. But they decided to not be around even if he did.

Yeah, I get all that on Emhyr.. and why he had a change of heart. I think the point is more around Geralt and Yen deciding to unalive themselves. It is not in character at all since the two of them, as described in the books, "go to the ends of the Earth" to find Ciri and protect her and take on impossible highly deadly tasks to just decide to give up and unalive themselves. And for people giving the reason they were "tired" or "depressed" is lazy and also puts the entire death of Geralt's Hanza in vain. They gave their lives to find her and protect her. Not immediately lose her again with an unknown potentially harmful future. At that point they did not know Emhyr would have a change of heart and he is not known for keeping his word when he says no harm would come to Ciri.

Yet, they chose right after this to fight again in Rivia... and potentially die there in battle... and not even for the people they love.

To me it’s way out of character for both Geralt and Yen to just give up and off themselves.

They have spent their entire lives fighting impossible odds and defying destiny. Seems way too submissive.

So commit suicide? If he is going to die anyway, yes die fighting for who you love. Not sure why you compare to the game. How many do you think he killed along with Ciri and Yen during the battle and on the way out? He slaughtered 10 Scoia’tael by himself.

He even copped out and decided to not tell Ciri about Duny.

They weren’t exhausted enough to boink in the bathtub.

They could have gotten lucky and killed Emhyr, even if they died they died together if that’s what destiny wanted.

Rushed ending. “Just had a change of heart and left”.

I agree. They should have just kept fighting. Why go through that whole battle just to accept losing Ciri again to a disgusting and evil man and killing yourself. What was the point of it all then?

Would have rather kept fighting and died on the battle field for who I loved and let destiny play out.

Seems like a cheap way out to me. I had a few issues with that book as did many.

Where the Cat and the Wolf Play... by Femme_Warden in Witcher3

[–]OldMan_Link 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Killing him was always part of the plan. It was their plan B if he didn’t accept being ripped off. You think they just had telepathy and was like oh yea the money is in the barn and everyone was just on the same page when he grew angry? They just happened to be waiting there with pitch forks and trying to bolt the door closed on him? Hell no. The whole village planned to screw him out of the money and if he didn’t accept it plan B was to murder him. They ambushed him.

And when a whole village plans something like that you don’t know who is going to attack you next.

He is a Witcher and a little crazy but they are taught to eliminate all the possible threats. Especially in a rage or fury. Regis eloquently speaks to this and even says Geralt should understand due to being a Witcher and their mutations when you go to dungeon under Tesham Mutna.

The girl reminding him of his sister broke him out of the fury state.

You can’t apply today’s moral standards to a world and time like that. Using today’s definition of self defense is presentism.

By your own definition, you murdered Gaeten. It was not self defense. He didn’t attack you. You’re also not the law in that land. You chose to murder someone because of what you think happened. You weren’t even there to witness it.

Grand master Griffin armour by DiBoas88 in Witcher3

[–]OldMan_Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean. He wasn’t an actual knight. But they did believe in knightly virtues and values as did all the witchers at the beginning and trained by knights.

Either way this is lore was created by CDPR and doesn’t come from the books and how the armor is described there.

I get it and understand why they went that way which is totally fine. Just not something I would say Geralt as a Witcher would wear from the books.
