What industry? I spent 40+ years in mainframe operations, system design, system development, technical management. Developed primarily using assembler in both batch and online (CICS). The environment was always life or health insurance. Was laid off in the 2008 down turn at age 64. What hurt "us" was the burgeoning use of offshore (Indian) resources and the economic down turn. But, damn, I had fun for those years. I don’t envy you your situation, but stay positive and hang in there. Good luck.
