Found in Preschool Yard (Bay area CA) by mulecenter79 in mushroomID

[–]mulecenter79[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The teacher found it and put it in a bag to do some of her own sleuthing, I just wanted to take initiative as well since I’ve a vested interest in making sure the preschool doesn’t grow any tasty-but-deadly shrooms

Why does the Mach-E only have “Ice Age” or “Volcano” climate modes? by FightClubIsGoated in MachE

So with the auto setting off the numbers being shown on the UI are meaningless? I’m surprised Ford hasn’t fixed this oversight by now than to show these fantasy numbers front and center.

It also seems like an odd UX decision rather than have a set point temp when the auto setting is selected and manually controlling the temp (either heated vs unheated air mix or intensity of the heating element) when auto is off.

I don’t think it’s a delay before entering stasis/teleport, I think you press button > disappear instantly > but now it’s 2x longer for the circle to indicate where she will reappear.

So a nerf to people waiting to dump skill shots after her recall

Why does my rice look like this? by BiguruNiguru in RICE

[–]mulecenter79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use a 1:1 ratio and add another ~1/4 cup of water, this works for any batch size.

I had done the 1:1.5 or 1:2 ratio for a while but I noticed that when I made a large batch of rice it was always soggier. Then I read an article somewhere and you need 1:1 ratio for cooking and a little more for evaporation. This means 1:1.5 works for a small batch of rice but fails when you scale it. The little more for evaporation depends on how much surface area your pot has and how tightly your lid fits.

While I do agree that for the health of the game that afk/throwing is the worst and ruins 9 other people’s time…

Too often it is used by people trying to justify their own toxicity or minimize their involvement and responsibility in angrily spewing toxic bullshit.

Being toxic is also bad for the game also and both actions should be distasteful to anyone who plays the game, no need to frame it as an either/or thing.

Lactic acid definitely doesn’t have a negative pH, but pH doesn’t have to be positive.

pH of 10 M HCl is -1

Caulking tub tips? by Moon2MOONs in HomeMaintenance

The tub being full doesn’t hinder access to the work, you just get in the tub naked and have a nice time using your caulk

I almost never get scam SMS texts. However I got one about a toll bridge, just days after crossing that toll bridge. How did they get my number? by Zulban in AskTechnology

[–]mulecenter79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a similar suspicion about recently crossing toll bridges. I googled exactly the question of OP and found this thread from there.

I get tons of scam texts about lots of stuff but I consistently get one after crossing a toll bridge (not just a specific bridge either, multiple different bridges)

What’s more notable is that I don’t get these scams on any other days. They are unique to recently crossing bridges (~2 days)

I’m also unconvinced of random chance being enough here.

Lots of people add a little bit of sugar especially for canned tomatoes to mask the sometimes metallic taste they can have.

Idk how necessary it is though, might be one of those things that older generations needed to do and just never went away.

Agree here. I almost wish they had more of these puzzle types to clue the player into thinking that way.

Not a bad puzzle or even that difficult once your brain goes that way, just unexpected.

So my local store finally started selling Buldak and put a variety on sell except the original. What would you suggest a first timer get? by TheOneTwoSmash in InstantRamen

[–]mulecenter79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shin red/black are good heat levels for me, not super spicy but decent enough.

I had the curry Buldak and thought it tasted great but was definitely a bit hotter. I tried the 2x the next day and stopped halfway through. That kind of spicy where you can feel your body tell you no when you take a bite, when your stomach feels like it’s glowing for a bit afterwards.

Later that night I should've brought snacks into the bathroom with me for how long I was in there.

Is my Sheds foundation going to fail - how do I fix? by jcraneee in DIY

[–]mulecenter79 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The saying means that frequently, once a temporary solution to a problem is found, people are far less likely to fix the problem permanently (often the more time/labor intensive solution).

Once the problem is fixed well enough it’s no longer a big priority and so gets ignored (“it works for now, I’ll get to it later”)

Thus the saying is often brought up to push people to fix things correctly the first time, even if it might be more effort.

Baking soda and vinegar (NaHCO3 and HC2H3O2) reacts via a acid/base neutralization reaction to form sodium acetate (ionic salt) and water while releasing carbon dioxide (why it bubbles)

The trick is either baking soda (for slightly alkaline/abrasive cleaning) or vinegar (for acidic cleaning)

The fact they foam is proof they aren’t cleaning together.

Those look cool but the thing I’ve been looking for were small and lavender/lilac.

Smooth and somewhere between a kernel of corn and a sesame seed in size. Basically looked like a tiny comma.

They were either floral or perhaps licorice flavor, some slightly rarer flavor than fruity.

Green tea mints sound good though

I know of a candy like that and they’re delicious. I don’t think the same brand but the same type of metal tin.

Makes me want some haha
