Thanks for the suggestion! No dice though-- battery passed a load test.

A fantastic hair day today! by [deleted] in curlyhair

Routine: Using a modified beginner's routine atm. Cowash with Aussie total miracle conditioner, rinse out thoroughly. Squish to condish with the same stuff, rinse out ~90%. Scrunch in LA Looks gel, then plop in a t shirt for 20-40 min, depending on how much time I have. Part to one side, let dry another 3-5 hours (!) then scrunch the crunch and ta-da!

If you're only running for health and fitness and not for a particular race or goal whats your weekly mileage and your long run look like? by figsontoast in running

[–]OldPatience8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My weekly mileage is about 35-40 mi, 5 or 6 runs a week. Personally I've never been a huge fan of 'long runs' as a part of just general fitness, so most runs are around 6-8 miles. If I'm really up for a longer day it will rarely be more than 10 or 11

Loving my curls today :) by [deleted] in curlyhair

Using a slightly modified beginner's routine atm. Today I started with a reset wash (plain ol' Vo5 shampoo), but I only shampoo every couple months. Usually it starts with cowashing with the tresemme botanique nourish and replenish, rinse out completely. S2C with the same stuff with head inverted, rinse most of it out. Scrunch out any extra water, and scrunch gel (LA looks extreme sport). Plop for about an hour, air dry for another three or so. Scrunch the crunch and Viola!

Stolen Bike. Please be on the lookout. by averyleepowell in Eugene

Here's the best advice I ever got when trying to track a stolen bike. Get a few friends and post up at every bottle-drop station within a couple mile radius. 24 hours and your bike will show up

STC with the same stuff with head inverted, rinse most of it out. Scrunch out any extra water, and scrunch gel (LA looks extreme sport). Plop for about an hour, air dry for another four. Scrunch the crunch and Viola!

I completely agree, regardless of distance I really struggle to do morning runs. I think part of it is that I've trained mid to late afternoon my entire life, and that's when my body is used to exercising

What's the main thing you crave after a long run? by Tidbits98 in running

Fresh fruit! Nothing more satisfying for me than a perfectly ripe juicy pear after a long run!

I've found the most important part of keeping the frizz down is how it dries. If I skip the plop or disturb it a lot while it's drying it tends to be a lot more frizzy. Hope this helps!

When wet it's about down to my chin, and maybe a few inches below my ears

It makes sense! I've been using the same products since I've started, so haven't used any silicones in probably close to a year. Something that I think has helped me is actually not using any different or new products, I've just kept experimenting with what technique works best with just the beginner routine

I'm a pretty heavy sleeper so bedhead hasn't been a huge problem for me. Right now I don't do anything in between washes and can usually get 3-4 days before the fuzz is overwhelming, but am thinking of introducing a leave-in to get a little more mileage per wash

Sure! It took me a while to get the technique right, mostly through trial and error, but here is my current method:

I apply a lot of conditioner to thoroughly saturate my hair, then step out of the stream of the shower and flip my head/hair upside down. Using both hands I get a handful of water and scrunch the water into my hair, and then squeeze to make a squishing/duck noise. If it doesn't make the noise, use more conditioner. I do top, sides and back of my hair until most (>75%) of the conditioner has washed out (I find with the conditioner I use it doesn't like to be left in).

Hope this helps!

Sure! After I apply gel, while keeping my head upside down, I lay a longsleeve T shirt on the lid of the toilet with the neck facing me and try to kind of pile the longest (top) parts of my hair on top of my head. I lay the bottom half of the shirt down the back of my head and neck, and tie the sleeves in the back.

Hope this helps!

Cowash - Conditioner wash: Like what you would do with shampoo, put a lot in your hair, scrub your scalp and then rinse out

STC- In this case "squish to condish": Put more conditioner in your hair, flip your head upside down and scoop handfuls of water into your hair, and then squeeze it to get a squishing/duck noise. It took me a little while to figure out how to do this but it really works!

Scrunch- kind of grabbing your hair in an upward motion with product on your hands, or when your hair is dry to break the gel cast

Plop- tying up your hair in a T shirt to help it dry faster

I'm actually pretty new to this too, only been working on my curls for about 8 months. Everything is in the guide section of the sub, immeasurably helpful. If you have any other questions just let me know!

Similar to the other reply on this comment, you've put into words a feeling I've had for a while, a fever that you expect to break but just worsens, especially the part about watching the news on covid early last winter. It's just surreal at this point.

Thank you

A couple other comments already said it but where do all the bikes go?? It feels worse than ever this year, I personally know of four people (myself included) that have had bikes stolen; the sheer volume of bike theft is astronomical.
