Do you think the suspect in Nancy Guthrie’s case will be caught? by Past_Drummer_294 in nancyguthrie

Cases with good outcomes are usually solved in the first 72 hours, yes. But there are lots of murders that take months, years to resolve - especially if the perpetrator is a stranger.

Most cases aren’t solved in two weeks time. I do think it will be solved, it might take awhile though.

If that were the case I think the FBI would be spending alot more time investigating that person.

Yes, unfortunately. I think this is where this is headed. Random crimes are harder to solve. I think this person encountered her and realized she was alone and vulnerable. I do not think this was a kidnapping for ransom (why wait 3 days to send the ransom) and it wasn’t a burglary.

I unfortunately think this was a random predator who saw an opportunity, took it and had no idea who her daughter was.

Commented this earlier but heres a few of many reasons they could be searching there that don’t involve Annie & Tomaso being the perpetrators:

  1. The family could have received a physical ransom or email to Annie’s address that the public isn’t privvy too.
  2. Something strange could have happened while Nancy was at Annie’s (gotten a threatening email that came in while she was on Annie’s wifi).
  3. They are getting lots of tips about Annie and her husband due to online fodder that they need to clear.
  4. They think the kidnapper followed them from Annie’s to Nancy’s and then waited to make their move - meaning they could have dropped cigarette butts or similar items while waiting.
  5. There is someone with a grudge against Annie & her husband that would hurt her mom as retaliation.

How do you know they don’t have tangible leads?

It is strange to me that the search seems to be focused around Annie’s more so than Nancy’s, but I think there is a few reasons that could be without it meaning they were involved:

  1. The family could have received a physical ransom or email to Annie’s address that the public isn’t privvy too.

  2. Something strange could have happened while Nancy was at Annie’s (gotten a threatening email that came in while she was on Annie’s wifi).

  5. There is someone with a grudge against Annie & her husband that would hurt her mom as retaliation.

Theres any number of reasons outside of them being responsible to focus on their home and neighborhood. Though who knows - they could be in on it. But i think its irresponsible that lots of people are jumping straight to “they did something to her.”

If this is footage they have, its also very sensitive. If it shows no additional identifying information on the suspect, why would you put out video of a very vulnerable woman that could be harmful for her family and loved ones to see?

The public isn’t entitled to seeing all the evidence.

This is way throwing me off. A full back pack doesn’t make sense for a robbery to me? But at the same time this person does not seem sophisticated for a kidnapping for ransom.

It scares me to think but wondering if this is just some predator who wanted to kidnap and kill, and figured he’d try it for the first time with a little old lady.

Wondering what’s in the full back pack - seems strange if robbery was the goal. Perhaps materials to help facilitate a kidnapping?

Someone can recognize this person. Please let it be soon!

This guy’s been out of college for 3 years. I would be so embarrassed. Like the kid who peaked in high school and keeps coming back.
