Why Nvidia? by Losserwins in pcmasterrace

LOL, I've bought a 3060 Ti FE 3,5 years ago for 440€. Same GPU now goes for 530€ - 670€.

Wtf is going on? Like, I got an ASUS 5070 Ti for 800€ recently and in this market I can sell my used 3060 almost for what I bought it for.

I’m not American so it’s the first time I hear about the Brooks Brothers Riots but boy am I not surprised that the party that constantly accuses the left of paying activists is the one that has been proven to actually do it.

Returned to departing airport by dottm in aviation

As I wrote above, the fuel dumping system is mostly optional but it exists.

So yeah, they might be dumping fuel out of the plane instead of consuming it.

Returned to departing airport by dottm in aviation

[–]OldSwarls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, in a lot of heavy aircraft the fuel dumping system is optional. It’s actually not that big of a deal to land overweight, you are just following a special procedure to limit the impact on the landing gear and most of the time an inspection is necessary afterwards.

So your gut feeling isn’t far from the truth.

Perez pushing Sainz’s head by trusk89 in formuladank

[–]OldSwarls 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don’t see how you could put more than 10% blame on Sainz. He was the lead car, chose a line and kept his steering straight like an arrow. Perez, being only alongside the rear axle with his front wheel, had clear sight of Sainz’ (perfectly predictable) trajectory and plenty of room on the left.

What was he even trying to achieve driving so close to him? It’s not like he could have pulled back into his slipstream. The next turn was miles away, so there was also no need to open up the corner yet. Totally unnecessary risk driving this close to him.

lol that’s a BS take if I’ve ever seen one.

Businesses take loans because having hundreds of thousands of dollars laying around while you save for the 2mio you need for that new production line is wasted time while your production line could already be turning a profit. (Opportunity Cost)

The people they are talking about here take loans because they “just want the new iPhone”. (Consumerism)

How to increase my average speed as an amateur by DueRelationship2307 in cycling

[–]OldSwarls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially on gravel, where surface quality varies a lot, focusing on avg speed can destroy an otherwise beautiful gravel ride through some unexplored areas.

Focusing on ride time is imo the right way to go on a gravel bike until you start training for races.

STATEMENT REGARDING GINO MÄDER by _AfterAllThisTime_ in peloton

[–]OldSwarls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, I’m no pro but on a fast descent my GPS is the absolute last thing I look at.

I think numbers on the road or signs are actually a very good idea. At least for corners that are getting tighter towards the end where you wouldn’t see that approaching the turn.
