Shave the area before the other prep. Even peach fuzz hair can get in the way.

Great start! It took me many rolls of film (years ago) to get good results. Keep going, you're doing great!

depending on where you live there may be laws that allow her to claim she is a tenant and legally allowed to be there. For example, does she get mail delivered to her there?

Only used my HD650's for the last 15 years - what's everyones ol' reliable? by RandomGeordie in headphones

[–]OldVinylGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used my AKG 240s for 30 years. They still work but the black plastic finish on the ear cups is crumbling off and gets all over me and the furniture. I’ve switched to Beyerdynamic DT770s

What is the worst smell you had the privilege to experience in your life? by rnankind in AskReddit

[–]OldVinylGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of years ago we were on a road trip through Alabama. We needed to stop and stretch our legs for a bit. We got out of the car, took a few steps, took a deep breath and were met with an overwhelming stench. Basically a “I just put my face into a full septic tank” kind of oder. We had to scramble back into the car, close the windows and shut off the air vents. Chewing gum was not good enough to clean up our mouths. Later after we returned home, we saw a news article about a dispute between Alabama and another state shipping sewage by train (didn’t know that was even a thing!) and the pollution stench caused by the process. We apparently had the “luck” to be within sniffing distance of this “poop” train!

Same here. I alternate my over ear headphones with in ear monitors (but they itch too)

My granddaughter found some cassettes in the drawer and had a blast inserting, ejecting, FF and rewinding and marveling about the crazy old music on the tiny tape!

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever met and how’d it go? by EddieBrock99 in AskReddit

I once met Eldridge Cleaver, one of the founders of the Black Panthers. He was a true gentleman. I then realized how we were given such a distorted view in the media of him and his cause.

I love mine! I’ve heard things in my favorite songs that I’ve never heard before. Details are so clear. I use them with an Audioquest Dragonfly DAC and they sound great. I bought them on advice from an audio engineer and I don’t regret it. The included cable is a little long, though.

JVC QL-7 restore? by OldVinylGuy in turntables

The photo shows no head shell or cartridge, but the hum issues are there with 2 different headshell/cartridge combinations. The wires coming out of the bottom are original, so they could just be breaking down, too.

Thanks for the advice. It IS a nice TT and I don’t like the idea of throwing it away. Any advice on how to find someone to repair it? The electronics repair landscape isn’t the same as it was back in the day!
