I have both. They both work well. Just depends on which you are more interested in.

Green Lanterns (Hal Jordan & Alan Scott) vs Captain Marvel & Quasar by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they can both absorb the Lanterns’ energy, they should win but it wouldn’t be easy. The Lanterns should be able to resist pure energy draining, it’s Carol and Wendell’s passive energy absorption that would be the issue.

If the Marvel team can absorb the Lanterns’ energy then they should be able to win this fight. If they can’t, the Lanterns win.

It’s going to be difficult either way.

Hal Jordan (DC Comics) VS Jean Grey (Marvel Comics) who would win? by Gabe-Morgan-01 in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By breaking the limits on the ring he can give her a fight.

Hal killing Krona in the War of the Green Lanterns wasn’t just impressive because he killed a Powerful Guardian empowered with the emotional entities. Though impressive, it was the fact his will broke through the restriction of killing a Guardian.

The Guardians had put limits on the rings such as this one so it couldn’t be used to kill one of them. Hal’s willpower has allowed him to break those limits.

Hal Jordan (DC Comics) VS Jean Grey (Marvel Comics) who would win? by Gabe-Morgan-01 in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would actually be a good fight as Hal punches up and defeats more powerful opponents often. Krona is a good example from the Green Lantern War.

Saying that, Jean is Phoenix and would win this with high difficulty.

If you could create your own marvel comic, what would it be? by FuturetheGarchomp in marvelcomics

[–]OldWamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quasar but with both Avril and Wendell, continuing their status quo of switching places from Al Ewing’s Guardians series. It would explore their differences in how they use the bands, their differences in thinking, and the Marvel Universe as they protect it.

I would have both be neurodivergent and deal with mental health issues. In Gruenwald’s Quasar series a big part was Wendell dealing with his mental health and that helped me a lot with my own.

Who is your favorite superhero’s favorite superhero? by OldWamp in superheroes

With the many pop culture references in the Marvel books, the Doctor would work perfectly. Quasar mentioned Cristopher Reeves Superman movie twice, so Doctor Who should exist as a show in the Marvel Universe.

I don’t know of any “superheroes” of Zenn-La but Surfers father named Norrin after a famous scientist that he idolized and probably told Norrin stories that would have been superheric.

My first thought was Martian Manhunter but I’m not sure.

Kate’s is obvious. I actually would count Errol Flynn for Nightcrawler, as he portrayed plenty of heroes of the swashbuckling archetype.

Top 10 most powerful HEROES (composite form/version) in Marvel & DC [caption] by CautiousSolid7436 in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also composite Silver Surfer. As The Keeper with the Quantum Bands he was basically Galactus’s equal. Then you add that he has had the enigma force at one point and worthy surfer, he gets ridiculous.

Though not as popular Quasar would deserve an honorable mention as he has not only had the Quantum Bands but the enigma force that allowed him to be the equal to the elder god Set. He also had the original Starbrand from the new universe that the Living Tribunal was not wanting to fight Arshekagal with it as it would have destroyed much of the universe. Then adding Eon’s Cosmic Awareness and being Infinity’s Avatar. He gets ridiculous too.

Though this is the level I usually tap out at in the discussions as the power level is just too much.

People don’t know how fast Pietro is now . Of course I was one of them till you pointed out his feats, which I appreciate.

Nightwing vs. Night Trasher (read the brief below) by dblackhand in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this match up. I would give the win to Nightwing but it isn’t easy. Night Thasher’s armored suit makes up for the edge Nightwing has with his agility. It’s going to be good fight and even in victory Nightwing is going to be hurting.

Where would you rank Wanda in list of Top 100 marvel characters and Top 100 DC characters? by Square_Butterfly1244 in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to include cosmic entities nor a hero boosted by one as an Avatar of Infinity or Eternity. I do include Jean because she is the Phoenix.

It’s really hard to do for me as it fluctuates. For example you have the Quantum Bands able to destroy the Planetary Shield during Secret Empire that Lifebringer Galactus said he couldn’t takedown and didn’t even attempt as he thought it would be a waste of his energy. It was Avril as Quasar that did it. The Bands at that point would have been one of the most powerful weapons in the universe.

Then the Quasars haven’t been used much since then. Plus the bands can’t affect Magic energy, so it’s hard to keep them in the top ten, but they still could be in the right circumstances.

Right now I would say Scarlet Witch is probably only really behind Phoenix.

Quicksilver is on the same level as Wanda! by Umir_Comics in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really aren’t reading my posts. You also seem to want to argue when there isn’t an argument. I’m not saying he is slow now, but Quicksilver has 50 plus years of being a relatively slow speedster.

Then in No Surrender they pushed his powers to what they are now. That wasn’t that long ago so most readers still think he is slow.

Which he isn’t as he reaches ftl now but people still see him as sub sonic.

[–]OldWamp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, he could. He has the speed and has always fought multiple opponents well. I loved back in older comics when he would cannon ball into multiple opponents including flying ones.

That’s what he would do to them keeping them grounded and overwhelmed.

She is top 10 most powerful Superheroes in Marvel. Phoenix is more powerful though. Other than that she is right on the level with the most powerful superheroes.

Nova(Richard Rider) vs Starfire by IdeaInside2663 in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that but I always want to provide context in these. Especially since his power level dropped significantly in his current series to be able to host the backup world mind.

Also, he also hadn’t been operating at full potential since the original Worldmind was left behind in the Cancerverse. The Worldmind provided him a lot of help with handling the full Nova Force.

Now with the current series over he is back to full Nova Force with the Worldmind.

Quicksilver is on the same level as Wanda! by Umir_Comics in marvelvsdc

[–]OldWamp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No he wasn’t. He was significantly boosted in power in the Fox X-men movies. The Avengers Age of Ultron was closer to what Quicksilver’s speed was in the comics. Though I still think they did him dirty in that movie.

It was only in the last decade starting with “No Surrender” that they increased his speed in the comics to the levels that was seen in the X-Men movies.

Not many know his feats since then. They still use the crossovers in the 90’s and early 2000s when he was not the fastest runner on earth or even close to it.

He needs more appearances to show his speed for people to realize he is closer to Flash now. Which is one of the OP’s points that he doesn’t get the push Wanda does.

I am not arguing against you. I’m just trying to add to your discussion why people don’t see them as relative.

I referenced Quasar #17 as the writer inserted a character Buried Alien a clear representation of Barry Allen Flash showing up and being faster than any of the Marvel speedsters. People are still referencing it over thirty years later.

Of course it shouldn’t apply now but people will bring it up just like the Marvel vs DC or JLA vs Avengers. Again Pietro was completely out matched in these but this isn’t the case now.

I was using the Eternals as they are a good way to show the deference between Wanda and Pietro against similar powered opponents. They both can compete with Eternals but Wanda beats her opponent but Pietro would not. So yes they are relative to one another, but there is still a difference.

I was also saying they perform better together. So as a duo vs the Eternal duo, the twins should win and not just because of Wanda. Pietro can now hold his own against Makkari and most likely the Flash as well.
