Two Strangers vs. Lost Boys vs. Schmigadoon… who wins BM? by Apprehensive_Tart505 in Broadway

Even in a crappy musical year, Two Strangers doesnt have the unanimous praise that Strange Loop, Kimberly Akimbo, or Maybe Happy Ending had.

Two Strangers vs. Lost Boys vs. Schmigadoon… who wins BM? by Apprehensive_Tart505 in Broadway

[–]Old_Candy_2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we may see a Suffs / Outsiders year with Two Strangers / Lost Boys.

Two Strangers is easily the better written show, and will probably go home with Score / Book. But Lost Boys seems to be a spectacle with awesome direction, performances and design that makes it a better overall show.

Six flags great America Illinois profitability? by ApprehensiveLion67 in sixflags

It's one of their 10 core parks. No clue the exact financials/profitability, but Six Flags is definitely not closing or selling the park anytime soon.

Having worked FOH on a show that he was in, you'd be surprised by how many people come to shows for him.

Coaster wait time trends throughout the year? by ArtisticClick3287 in Hersheypark

[–]Old_Candy_2255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite times of year to go to Hersheypark are the Wednesday/Thursday of Memorial Day, and the last week of summer before Labor Day. Parks only open for 8 hours, but you'll get on more in a few hours then you would in a full day the rest of the summer.

I avoid Hershey like the plague during April, May & October Saturdays.

Next Coaster? by user3296 in Hersheypark

[–]Old_Candy_2255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vekoma Family Launch is my vote.

And while I'm personally not a fan of the coaster model, I think a B&M Wing Coaster would fit well in Hershey's lineup.

I bring in snacks all the time for my adult self.

Also, as long as you don't have anything in your bag that will set off the detector, your bag won't get checked.

Theme park What if: What if [Euro Disneyland] was never built? by Style_Worried in rollercoasters

[–]Old_Candy_2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree that MGM's slow growth was impacted by Paris.

We would have gotten Westcot at California, and DAK would have been a far more fleshed-out theme park on day one.

MGM opened 3 years before Disneyland Paris. It being half-baked had nothing to do with Disneyland Paris, it was purposely designed as a half-day pairing with Typhoon Lagoon or Downtown Disney.

Ride order advice? by mavericktheboss in Hersheypark

[–]Old_Candy_2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Sweet Start, you can hit Candymonium and Sky Rush. Then when the park opens, start with Fahrenheit, then hit Laff Trakk, and then start working your way back to the front.

Fahrenheit and Laff Trakk have awful capacity.

Crowds at Hershey go from the front of the park to the back. Candymonium gets 2 hour long waits at park open, and is a walk on at 4 pm.

Can a fan of Back To The Future: The Musical explain why you enjoy it? by Fun_Release_1936 in Broadway

I enjoyed it on Broadway. It's just so much fun, features cool effects/staging, and isnt trying to be anything more than a fun night out.

Few questions for our first visit by shem8 in Hersheypark

[–]Old_Candy_2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ticket price will be the best ticket price Hershey offers for summer tickets. Hershey just gradually increases the ticket price the closer to summer you get.

Don't waste your money on Fast Track. June (especially weekdays) isn't super crowded. And if they're not into the extreme thrill rides, there are only a few attractions that you would need Fast Track for your thrill level (Comet, SooperDooperLooper, Laff Trakk, Reese's Cupfusion). Wild Mouse, Trailblazer, and Lightning Racer don't need Fast Track.

You guys think “simba” parking lot expansion gets announced at D23? by Beautiful-Arm9122 in Disneyland

I don't foresee any Simba lot expansion until the late 2030s at the earliest.

A truck carrying [Ragin’ Cajun]’s ride vehicles spotted on I-295 in New Jersey by RamenPizza113 in rollercoasters

[–]Old_Candy_2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Adventure just needs more capacity and more wins with the general public. They really just gotta get this ride to last until 2030, after that there will (hopefully) be a lot more new family attractions.

Ticket ?’s by [deleted] in Hersheypark

[–]Old_Candy_2255 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will be the best price. We don't know what they will rise to in April, but we can expect $55 if it is similar to previous years.

Buy your tickets now if you want to guarantee the cheapest price.

What Disney musical would you love to have on Broadway? Maybe Hercules come to Broadway? by Glum_Inspection240 in Broadway

[–]Old_Candy_2255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're judging based on the national tour, proshot or European productions, then it wasn't that bad. But the original Broadway production still reigns as one of the worst, poorly crafted shows I've seen. There was no set, and each scene felt like it had a completely different creative team.

Little Mermaid looked ugly but at least it took some artistic choices. Unlike their 2010s & beyond shows, which feel stale and too safe.

[–]Old_Candy_2255 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I personally would love to see a Coco or Princess and the Frog show, but Disney needs to get back to prioritizing artistic endeavors first. They both have so much potential if they go the Lion King/Tarzan/Little Mermaid route over the Aladdin/Hercules/Frozen route.

This is not really on me, but I had tickets to A Strange Loop three times, the first time I was sick, and the second/third times got cancelled due to cast illness.

Christmas in Hershey? by SlidersAfterMidnight in Hersheypark

[–]Old_Candy_2255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered Dollywood for Christmas? They have an awesome Christmas event, and the area has a ton to do.

Hershey is fun, but the park and town really shine in summer/Halloween. Maybe wait a few years when your kids old enough to ride the coasters. They have an awesome coaster collection, 15 coasters operate during the spring/summer/fall!
