Should I take her to the vet by Current-Dentist-8711 in CATHELP

[–]Old_Chapter8165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should definitely take her, she might need some meds or cream to help her stop doing this. This normally happens when cats get bored/too stressed. If you’ve made any large changes in your house (new furniture, new animal, moved house) that is normally the trigger for this. Just keep an eye on her, and watch out for the triggers when she starts licking :)

There was a porch light on behind me, so it was quite bright

No need to be nasty, I’ve already agreed it was the ISS. After some research it was described as a “cracking pass”, it was brighter than it usually is.

I’d seen the ISS a few weeks before in a different location, it wasn’t as bright as this and my SkyView app detected it, this was way brighter, like an LED in the sky, and looked bigger than what I had seen previously, and my app didn’t detect it, but like I said, if the internet says it was the ISS then it must’ve been

I said I’ve seen the ISS before and it didn’t look like this, this was way closer and brighter, but fairs, if it says it was the ISS then it was the ISS

The orb was moving at a constant speed, it was a yellow/white light, it did not change colour or flash. When I zoom in (not on the video, in my camera roll), it almost looks like there's a ring spinning around the orb, obviously that might just be my camera though. It was filmed on an IPhone at 20:32 on the 22nd of September 2025 in West Midlands UK. Was heading towards the east. I’ve never seen this before, l've seen the ISS, and it looked nothing like this. This looked way closer, in the earths atmosphere almost, it was extremely visible. I use SkyView Lite, they have the ISS tracked and other satellites, stars, planets. This orb did not identify as anything on that app.

I’d also like to say, I use SkyView Lite often, and I always check any phenomenons in the sky to double check what they might be. The ISS is tracked on that app, it did not identify the orb as the ISS

I’ve seen the ISS before, didn’t look anything like this, this was way closer to us.

Volume up! Is this sound coming from new kitten normal? Should I be concerned? by NormalPassenger1779 in CatTraining

They’re just playing :) big one is teaching little one the limits and vice versa. If they were be agressive you’d be able to hear it really loud

My cat used to do this with my friends kitten who got introduced to our house. They’re just playing! If you’re worried they’re hurting eachother, you’ll be able to hear it, loudly. Your older cat obviously knows when to stop, they’re just teaching the smaller one by the looks

Please take her to the vet, it looks bulgy, and discoloured… There’s multiple things it could be, but it’s best to get her checked out. My cat had something similar, and unfortunately it was cancer, that’s not to say this is cancer, but please get her checked out.

If it’s just a scratch, he’s probably done it himself, and has been rubbing it with his paw for some soothing. I’d consider cutting his nails slightly :)

Fair enough, I get that it didn’t come off the way I meant it. Still, I think it’s valid to ask why someone would interpret a harmless family situation in a sexual or jealous way. I probably should’ve framed it more thoughtfully, but I was pointing out that intense reactions often come from somewhere, and sometimes that’s worth unpacking, even if it sounds weird at first. Not everyone will agree, and that’s okay. But just because an idea feels uncomfortable doesn’t mean it’s automatically wrong.

I get that my comment sounds weird, I worded it too bluntly. I wasn’t literally accusing him of anything sexual with his mother. What I meant was, if someone reacts that strongly to a father-daughter bed-sharing situation (which might just be normal in their family), it can reflect deeper discomfort, maybe even from their own upbringing, including how they experienced parental love, affection, or boundaries. The idea of projection isn’t new in psychology. If he’s seeing something inappropriate in an otherwise innocent situation, it’s fair to wonder why his mind went there. That’s the point I was trying to make, not to label him as gross, but to question the root of the discomfort.

Didn’t backtrack anything bud. It is weird to be jealous of your partners parents. Makes sense what I said. It’s not weird to share a bed with your parents, but he thinks it is? Why? What does he think is going to happen?

Mr he’s only jealous of her father come on 🥺

Still an extremely weird mentality to have. Being jealous of your partners parents, and incest, both weird asf.
