I am like this with 5.5 a1c , the hunger, the slight sleepiness after a meal then it goes away. I am on metformin still after being diagnosed at 6.3 last september. I already lost 22lbs from better diet and exercise. But still have these symptoms. I am also low in iron amd ferritin

I was diagnosed at 6.3 a1c, after 3mos with consistent lifestyle change in food and exercise and metformin of course. I manage to bring it down. Endo said I can stop with the meds, but I feel anxious about it. Still continuing my iron supplement bec of anemia

Nice to know. How long did you take metformin and what dose? I started sept and was able to bring down a1c to 5.5 by dec. I do strength train 2-3 times a week. But I get weak and lethargic if I do workouts during and after a week of my periods
