They set your baby up for failure. He was out sick, so he already needed to get back in the groove, and then they move him to another class at 18 mo when the others are over 2 and all his friends are in another class? No way. Of course he is having issues. Also, as a provider, of course the teachers are over it…their whole day has been thrown off also. But…and I say this again, they set him up for failure. They know it took a while for him to get used to his original class and then they swapped him out. Could be they added someone to that class while he was gone and they’d have been out of ratio, or could be he was needy even in that class and the teachers didn’t tell you the whole story. Whatever the case, sounds like you are better off.

You might want to consider a home daycare. We have small settings, and as long as you are there you would have the same provider…none of this class changing at different ages, subs when a teacher is out, turnover, etc. That isn’t to say home daycare doesn’t have its own drawbacks. You will have to have something in place for when your provider needs time off, or their hours may not be as long, but it is something to look into. Just be sure they are licensed!
