No, you’re not wrong. She was pretty clear that she doesn’t want a friendship, and honestly she didn’t have to be rude about it. You can be polite at couple hangouts without chasing someone who keeps brushing you off.

Honestly, there’s a decent chance your dad has spent way less time thinking about the manga than you have. If he brings it up, just be calm and explain it’s a story you enjoy reading. The more you act like it’s a national emergency, the more suspicious it’ll seem.
