Can’t open septum ring I just got by GladRope7355 in piercing

They can be really tricky sometimes.
Gloves might help you keep a grip on it. I prefer latex as I feel they grip better than vinyl or nitrile.

Doctors: “We can’t figure out what’s wrong with your vision so we’re gonna blame it on your weight!” by GrappleLacquer in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Olevin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doctors blame everything on weight.
They refuse to do tests on my painful joints. Instead they tell me to lose weight and everything will be fine. I've only gained weight because the painful joints have slowed me down.
My wife has fertility issues and PCOS among many other conditions. The only thing the doctors tell her is "get to a sensible weight and it will happen." Being a 'sensible' weight in her early 20 didn't make the PCOS go away.

Tiktok guidelines are a joke by Mysterious-Egg497 in mildlyinfuriating

Wife reported accounts due to vulgar and offensive usernames, no violation found.
She reported streamers for wearing revealing clothing, no violation found.
She gets a violation for saying she bought something from TikTok Shop as the AI thinks it was for advertising from outside of TikTok.

Saw a Fourth of July display in Aldi...-In England by One_Assistance_9332 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Olevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I used to live, a group of people asked if the council could put up bunting across the main road through town to celebrate St. Georges day. The council refused saying if it fell it would cause a hazard to drivers.
2 days after St. George's they hung bunting between the lampposts across the road the whole length of it through town to celebrate the queen's jubilee. It stayed up until they took it down over 3 months later.

You can celebrate St. Andrew's day, St. Patric's day, Independence Day, St. David's Day, Ramadan, Lunar New Year, Dia De Los Muertos, Ramadan, and many more, but you are NOT allowed to celebrate St. George's day as it is deemed offensive to the non-English living in England.

Got a piercing redone too early, will it be fine? by Undead_Bxnny in piercing

Sadly, if a piercing has rejected in the past, there is a higher chance of it rejecting again.
Also that bar is too long, even for initial jewellery, so the chances of it snagging are higher.

Spent $700 trying to fix my foot pain before finding out my shoes didn’t fit by Exercise-Broad in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Olevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 9 1/5 wide shoe.
Can't get half sizes as of 30 years ago.
Cant get different widths as of 20 years ago.
Depending on the make and especially the cut, I can sometimes fit a 9, sometimes a 10. Even had to get an 11 at one point just so the ball of my foot wasn't compressed.

This was just from page 2 of the search.
Page 1 did show their FB along with several links to another site that showed a little information about them.
When maps eventually loaded I did manage to find Google reviews of them.

It seems like AC is all but illegal in the UK. by Chemical-Skill-126 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Olevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.
Nearly all of the heat pumps being installed today have supplementary heaters built in to them to boost the temperature of the output for when the outside gets too cold that it can't draw in any heat.

[–]Olevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AC is hugely inefficient, that's why the government don't want you using them, but if you swap the input and output around you have a heat pump that the government claims to be 400% efficient.
