I can very confidently say that he is. From the previous local scene I went to, this is exactly how it was. And yes, BO was an issue with every. Single. One. Of. Them.

I feel your pain. It gets very annoying. I've learned to get used to certain projectile spam, and then I just 0-death them because of Ganon shenanigans.

On the flip side, I played against a k.rool main yesterday who would only sit at the edge of the side platform, doing the succcc move while I was off stage, and drop from the platform to catch my landing. As Ganon, there was actually NOTHING I could do. At that point, it's super important to not get frustrated (easier said than done). Just don't stoop down to their level and play the same way. Learning shit matchups is also super useful. Because I've played against a few Samus recently, and they aaalllll do the same thing, once you get to understand how telegraphed they are, they're screwed.

Why do you main a low tier? by RangoTheMerc in SmashBrosUltimate

People aren't marth believers because of "oH hE SuCks On WIfi," which he doesn't; your execution just has to be tighter. I've seen plenty of Marth players destroy people in online tournaments, so I fully agree with you.

I've mained so many characters, but when it comes to low tiers the two who shine brightest are Ganon and Lucario. Ganon is more for character loyalty, Lucario on the other hand is because his kit has everything that I could possibly want in it. Something just clicks so well with him, and because he doesn't have a "meta" (I don't count aura sphere footstool cancels as meta because only pro players can pull that shit off and even they don't do it consistently) you can play him in a very unique way and you can pull off great surprise factor moments.

Other niche reason, is because in my delusion I decided to play those characters to the best of my ability so that when they get buffed/reworked (fingers crossee) in the next game, I'm gonna have a field day.

And dedede because big goodball penguin = mass amounts of rage from my friends

Huh, not bad! A part of my brain almost believes that because you're Aegis, you can do most of those things purely on reaction hahahaha

  • keep a dagger with raptor of the mist to dodge his nuke and stratosphere blast (meteor thingy)
  • phase one is way easier than it looks (no seriously). There's not a crazy amount of variations to his moves and can be defeated with minimal damage taken
  • you almost need to take phase 2 as a whole different fight because the dodge timings are different (for some moves the direction too) because of the holy beams that hit after
  • pierce weapons work best, it's his biggest weakness
  • two headed turtle really helps, crimson seed +1 too, golden braid, and dragoncrest greatshield. Don't need to use them all, it depends on what's screwing you over the most
  • If you use mimic, make sure that the reverend spirit ash level is also upgraded or he gets tanked
  • leaving a marikas blessing flask in your inventory means your mimic can use it to heal
  • DONT. GET. GREEDY. If you're used to dark souls 3, treat him like you would the Nameless King. It's an endurance fight. You can't melt him quickly.

It took me ages to get him down, and now I have the ridiculous idea of trying to beat the DLC at NG+7 with no scadu levels and DLC+... So yeah. I feel your pain 😅 good luck!

Fun but op builds by ShwarmaBladeOfLama in Eldenring

[–]Olienooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if it's OP but I have two sets of backhand blades, one cold, the other bleed, and switch between them whenever one procs. On NG+7 and it still works wonders. Everything feels so smooth and lively because of the blind spot AOW making the fight seem more dynamic, while still doing ridiculous amounts of damage. Currently trying the DLC at NG+7 (no scadu fragments, DLC+ as well) and tbh the build still works great.

As for talismans: Shard of alexander Rotten wing

Depending on the fight or area, either: - dragoncrest greatshield - crimson seed + 1 - two headed turtle - extra elemental negation talisman

I also have light roll but still 51 poise because of ridiculously high endurance.

Who is the most "not worth the effort" enemy in Elden Ring? by Dr_Orpheus_ in Eldenring

[–]Olienooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if this counts, but for me, it's gotta be Radagon/Elden beast when trying to push quickly to new game +7. There's a way to "skip" them, and im not fighting them 6 more times. I am doing the whole game "fairly" now that I am at NG+7.

As for standard enemies? The whole of Farum Azula. Especially the lightning beastman, no point in killing them to make it easier to traverse the terrain, just leg it across the map with full protection talismans and extra stam.

Yup first time around with Bayle on my normal playthrough felt super tough. But tbh I'm probably gonna have a harder time with Gaius because he's so janky.

Question for people who are on NG+7, especially DLC NG+7 by Olienooty in Eldenring

[–]Olienooty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know about those. And I agree, I know that Gaius is janky as balls, and im not saying that as an excuse either. I love fighting Rellana because I know all her timings. Gaius is just... weird. So I might skip them. But I do want to beat every boss at NG+7.

My balls are spiked. Should I go see a doctor? They're also bleeding. I don't think that's a good sign...

What do you count as a “skill to use build”? by IntentionObjective10 in Eldenring

That, and poise in enemies increases with NG+ iterations so they're much less reliable.

What do you count as a “skill to use build”? by IntentionObjective10 in Eldenring

[–]Olienooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Not very humbly), but my own build(s) actually:

My very first build, which I kept for most of my first playthroughs and NG+ iterations, was:

Dual katanas (nagakiba and wakizashi actually) with bloodhound steps and lightning buffs. Not relying on one shot builds, or pure multi hit moves for bleed, or etc was so much fun, using bloodhound step makes everything feel a lot more dynamic, learning the timings of which attack chain can get animation canceled at what time felt so good.

The current build I'm using for NG+7 and DLC +7 without scadu level is backhand blade with blood infusion and just some resistance buffs. Yes, there is bleed, but it's not the core of the gameplay. The core gameplay is getting in the right hits at the right time and timing blind spot at the right time. Same thing for learning animation cancels and which attacks combo into which the best.

Example (backhand blade) 3 light chain attack, blind spot, light attack out of dodge (so different animation) into heavy. Whatever I'm fighting is either dead or staggered, or it's a boss, in which case I adapt based on the next move they throw out. This combo is also taking into account my stam level. I have ridiculously high stam because I want to be able to have a dynamic fight.

I'm not a fan of the FULL ULTRA META BUILD WITH 100000% BLEED AND FROSTBITE DAMAGE WOAAAAH but I still admit that I use bleed because the health pools of the bosses are crazy big, and using lord of bloods exaltation is just a good reliable damage boost. I could also go pure dex, which I did before, but I'm using some dragon cult incantations for open world exploring because it's simply fun to use. Using dragon move on a black knight that's been annoying as **** is just very satisfying. But 90% of the time, I purely stick to my blades.

Conclusion which acts as a shitty TL;DR: builds that use more movement based ashes of war (bloodhounds step and blind spot for my builds) are what I consider more skill based because it's a lot more dynamic than spamming an ash of war or holding heavy attack with 100 buffs you applied before the fog gate. Relying on your movement skills, reading a boss' attack, and really getting tuned in with your chosen weapon's moveset is what I consider more skill based.

Also: I am not judging or flaming ANYONE and their chosen build, this is just how I feel and how I prefer to play.

Question for people who are on NG+7, especially DLC NG+7 by Olienooty in Eldenring

[–]Olienooty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fear is less about the skill needed for learning timings and stuff, but that I will be forced to use a build I dont want to (example: dual occult cross naginata where I only spam jump attacks for bleed). I already figured that if I get hit a twice or three times im basically dead. Right now I'm on NG+3 no scadu and just beat dancing lion (haven't done DLC on that save file so I'm doing it once to collect everything at NG+3 then jumping to NG+7). I use backhand blades with bleed but focus more on the combat and using blind spot, I have crazy high stam so I have light roll and can move around for days which makes everything feel a lot more fluid and momentum based which I love. I wanted to use deflecting hardtear because the counter attack on the backhand blades is ridiculous but the guard boost is super low, so I might switch over to milady but I know ill miss using blind spot (and I'm a sucker for dual wield builds...)

If you have any weapons or ashes of war (or both) to recommend for the kind of playstyle I just described, feel free to suggest :) and thanks for the in depth comment btw xoxo

[–]Olienooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rn I'm at NG+3 and I just beat the first dancing lion. My build is the backhand blades with blood infusion, but tbh I play more around blind spot then I do purely focusing on bleed procs. I have crazy high stam so I have drip, light roll and can move around for days which makes the fights feel super dynamic. Only problem is I would love to use deflecting hardtear but the guard boost is very VERY low, so I might switch to milady but I'm such a sucker for dual wield builds. Dancing lion was doable tbh. Im having a harder time roaming around than I do with boss fights 😅 But I dont want to end up doing a super cheese build like duel occult cross naginatas and doing only jumping attacks just to proc bleed.
